Ramona Bell (Mrs. Art Bell) Dies
Unknown Country ^ | January 5, 2004 | Anne Streiber

Posted on 01/05/2006 11:30:07 PM PST by JennysCool

Art Bell's beloved wife of fifteen years, Ramona, died unexpectedly last night after an asthma attack. At present, the exact cause of Mrs. Bell's death has not been determined. It apparently took place during her sleep.

Until her death, Art and Ramona Bell had not been apart a day since they were married. Mrs. Bell had suffered from asthma for years, and took her normal steps to control the attack, which occured sometime last night in Laughlin, Nevada where the Bells were taking a brief vacation. Ramona Bell was 47 years old.

I know alot of Freepers don't like Art Bell, but I've long been a fan of his. My prayers go out to him and his family.

It is Noory that we don't like. Art is a class act.

Well all that did happen to him. He also has lost two pets in the last year. And to be fair, gaijin said this.

In spite of all that, Art did not go on to voice the kind of antipathy to homosexuals that I believe might be warranted, under the circumstances. I think this forbearance speaks to Art's good character.

What happened to his son would be a tough blow for any man to take. I don't know how Art was able to handle it that well. I would guess Ramona played a big part in keeping Art from totally falling apart.

It is so very sad for Art to have this worst thing happen. I've been a long-time listener to his program, lots of it rather silly, but also entertaining, and some of it quite engrossing, esp. the interviews he did with the late Fr. Malachi Martin. Of course I always loved hearing about his beloved cats, and how they came to be a part of his and Ramona's household, and the stories he'd tell about them.

There is no reason we can understand why such a harmless man should have to suffer the troubles he has had to endure, but my prayers go out to him - may he find some peace and solace in the days ahead.

Malachi Martin.

Yeah, he was one of my favorites, too.

Art Bell kept me company many sleepless nights when I was going through hard times. Sorry to hear of his great loss.

Reminds me that many people live the Story of Job. We should all remember to count our stores in what we have and not in what we do not.

Best wishes to Mr. Bell at this terrible time.

That is too young.

What I am surprised about is that she was wheezing in her sleep.

I have had bad asthma and I found Advair and I have no asthma in my life with it.
I'm surprised Ramona didn't know of it.

Wasn't a joke, Art has said she was a witch on his show several times that I've heard.

Still a very sad and early loss.

no woman in her family has lived past age 59. That history goes back to 1423.

Well, thank heaven that's over. You wife is definitely going to be the first one who interrupts the pattern. Long life and happiness to both of you,

I remember listening to Art on my walkman while standing in Times Square that night *LOL* His show started at eight and Curtis Sliwa hijacked his show hehehe.

I could feel Art was mostly tongue-in-cheek with them.

Art has said as much. He is interested in fringey stuff, but he has made it clear that he doesn't automatically personally believe a lot of it. Still, it was fun.

My condolences to Art and his family. This is just awful.

I loved the insane guests, I could feel Art was mostly tongue-in-cheek with them. I remember him talking about the big wooden alien Rush Limbaugh sent him.

That's the difference between Art and Noory. Noory seems gullible enough to believe his guests. My sympathy to Art. (Gullibility--a prerequisite to being a Democrat!!)

I first heard of Ramona's passing on Michael Reagan's show. Mike said he talked to Art yesterday and as I recall, Mike said she had taken her medicine, gone to bed and didn't wake up.
