A second female teacher has been accused of molesting a male student, Kern County Superior Court records show.
Jennifer Lynn Sanchez, 31, a mathematics teacher at Buena Vista Continuation High School in Taft, was charged on Dec. 22 with four counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old student, and one count each of oral copulation and sodomy with the same student.
She has resigned from her teaching job, school officials said Thursday.
She has pleaded not guilty in the Taft division of Kern County Superior Court and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Jan. 26.
Her bail initially was $150,500, but it was reduced on Dec. 28 to $25,000 and she has since posted that bail, court records show.
The case was investigated by the Taft Police Department. The alleged sexual encounters occurred between Oct. 1 and Nov. 21.
This case was brought to light following the arrest Wednesday of Sherry Brians, 41, a seventh-grade teacher at Buttonwillow School who was charged with engaging in lewd acts with a 12-year-old boy at the school. She is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in the Shafter division of Kern County Superior Court.

Hey, this went on back in my day. It was well known, but the law didn't prosecute because the HS boys were enjoying it far too much to complain. Even the girls with male teachers didn't complain and some eventually broke up the first marriage and became members of the second wives club.
I'm less outraged in this case since the victim is 17 and this is a continuation high school. This teacher still abused her position, however.
The law is already perversely bias in favor of females.
Female teachers, suffering from insomnia, watching too many "Girls Gone Wild" commercials at 3 a.m.

I agree teachers should not be 'allowed' to have sex with students, however, I do think punishment should be commensurate with the actual harm done to the victim. A teacher should not have to spend time behind bars for having sex with a 17-19 year old, if there is no pregnancy or STD involved. 17-19 year olds are NOT children. They are young adults.
I know a man, in his late 60's, who recently related to me how he was having sex with a 19 yr old woman when he was barely 12. I tried to make it out to be that he'd been molested by that woman and how traumatic it must have been for him. He just laughed with a twinkle in his eye and said, "Ooooh Noooo. I loved every minute of it."
Do you think somebody should go to jail for this one? I don't think there is a statute of limitations for sex crimes any longer. Do you think this man knows whether or not he was 'victimized'?
True, but she got a separate count of oral copulation in addition to the sodomy count, which suggests to me that the boy got 4 regular rides, one BJ and one trip up the dirt road.
A VICTIM? Please! He's no "VICTIM". A 12-year-old, yes -- but 17? That's hilarious!
Anyway, it appears she did get off already -- several times, in fact. (I guess that depends on how good a teacher she is).
17 years old is not a child. When my grandfather was 17, he was on a transport ship to Europe to fight the Nazis in WW2. No comment on what I was doing at 17 :p
I was in boot camp at 17, straight out of high school.
I could and should have been in college but youth is easily swayed.
Going off to war at 17, absolutely not a kid. Case closed.
As far as what I was doing at 17: why, looking high and low for a really friendly 31 year old woman, of course.
I believe it's more like a new case every DAY.
