Snugs, my heart goes out to you. I pray that God will surround you and your dad with his Perfect Peace and that loving memories of your dear mum will comfort and sustain you.

Be strong, Snugs. Many here are praying for you.

Mornin' GeeBee.

You wrote you came up empty handed and the thread you post is so very lovely, entertaining and fun to read :)

Thanks. It's kinda silly, I guess, but I am filling in for dutchess (who was planning to fill in for JH2) and just couldn't come up with a meatier topic on short notice. Fortunately, John's Two Cents will be back next week. I miss having coffee with him. :-)

You have a great day, sistah.

Love the pledge graphic! As for your six reasons, might I suggest before you start knitting for the reindeer, you finish Jeffrey's spread? lol I did laugh at the reasons, especially Chachi's thank you notes and the buying out of the Central Valley! Too funny! HUGS!!!!!!!!!

HUGS!

Hi, sistah!

although I'm more the spider solitaire type

Oh, I am addicted to THAT too! It is a wonderful time-waster. :-)

Myst has been out for many years and it has been fun watching the series evolve into games with such beautiful 3D graphics. The puzzles that you have to solve to get yourself through the game are quite difficult, but there are "cheats" and walkthroughs all over the internet. I play the games mostly because the music and graphics in the different "ages" are just breathtaking...and you never know what is going to be around the next corner. Of course, the first Myst game was much less sophisticated that the last few. But all have been fun.

Wonderful happening today. My dad's dear friend who he has known for over 30 years we did not know he was trying to get to the funeral well he did not make the funeral but he turned up at our house when we arrived back home.

The service was lovely dad said it was just how he wanted it to be. Dad did not go to graveside but they had a lean to at the back of the chapel with a seat in it and it was out of the wind and chill and dad sat there and after the formalities at the graveside he just walked down to look at the grave.

The Chapel kindly laid on a cup of tea and cakes and scones and then we returned home.

We had been back about half an hour when our friend Malcolm who has not visited us probably for over 15 years was at the door. He had been over to the village where the funeral was but he had gone to Parish Church instead of the Chapel. He does not drive so he had done all this by train and bus traveling something like 80 miles by the time he got to our house.

It was an answer to prayer it gave dad something else to think about and even smile about it is so typical of his friend. I managed to get a meal for us including our other friend who drives dad around and does odd jobs for us and then he took Malcolm back to the station to catch the 7.30 train to Brighton (he lives in Worthing, Sussex).

Thank you all that prayed or thought about us your prayer was answered in an amazing way.

God Bless you all

I just got in Eleanor and what a joy(If I can say that) to see your two posts. What a delightful surprise for your dad's friend to have gone through all that trouble.. and what a blessing for you both for him t be with you. He obviously went the extra mile.

The two hymns that were sung are among my favorites. I do appreciate you sharing. Of course keeping you in my thoughts & prayers in days ahead.

I am leaving again shortly for the evening but will check here/Dose when I return tonight. I know you are thread poster for Dose unless you switched due to funeral.

BBL

super hugs to you!!!

Oh snugs...that is so wonderful that you dad was pleased with the service and that his long lost friend made the effort to be there. My dad was so happy with mom's service, he really found comfort in that and kept saying "mom would be so pleased". You take care of yourself!

Have you ever had a two crust pineapple pie? It's really very good, and really easy to make too. Lots of people have never tried it.
