Not only is he a traitor, looks like he's going to go for the self-righteous grandstander defense."""

Good for him/her. Maybe we can get the illegal domestic spying stopped before Hillary or another Democrat has a chance to become president and use these powers (without judicial OK) to track political enemies. With a Dem in the White House, freepers might show a little more concern about unchecked government surveillance. As a traditional conservative, I believe in restraining government power, no matter who is in the White House.

Except there is no illegal domestic spying. Guess the law be damed. To hell with self defense of our society. It does NOT fit the Hollywood Sitcom view of the Law the rabid Bush haters have mythologies for themselves it MUST be illegal. Wrong again as usual.

It is PERFECECTLY legal. YOU do NOT have the ability to hide behind your Constitutional Rights while acting as an agent for a terrorists group. Read the damn law for once instead of just spewing out the same pseudo intellectual Civil Libertine hysteric nonsense. Once someone has actively conspire with our enemies we have a right to crush them. Time for the lunatic 60's generation to GROW up. ANYTHING a Government does can be abused.

Using the aggressively stupid ideas of the Loser Generation the Government should do NOTHING EVER because "it might be abused by a future Government".

Gee, the FBI may be abused again by a future Govt, using the absurd nonsense being advanced as "thinking" here we should abolish it. Since someone MAY abuse the Military some day we have to abolish it too. Sorry the world offends the products of the WORST Generation. Too bad. The world DOES NOT revolve around YOUR OWN PERSONAL emotional whimsy. We are a Constitutional Republic, NOT a Democracy. Your personal feelings about a law are meaningless

Maybe we can get the illegal domestic spying stopped ...

When you find some, let me know and I'll agree with you. But as of right now, you're talking out your ass.

Congress or the courts have never had the ability to restrict the actions of the executive when gathering counterintelligence on our enemies during wartime.

And international electronic communications have been fair game for the intelligence agencies of any nation since international electronic communications were invented.

But you keep inventing laws that don't exist, if that's what keeps your high horse fed.

The problem is, none of the spying is domestic (you've latched onto that leftist spin hook, line and sinker).

And what makes you think Hillary! can be stopped even if there are laws in place?

The template of the Clinton's is to steer clear of any laws, and if successful, go out to the nearest podium, stand in front of cameras and reporters and give the American people the three-foot tall middle finger. Didn't the 8-year circus freak show, commonly referred to as the Clinton administration, teach you anything?

Don't tell me you trust a Clinton or any Democrat for that matter, to abide by the law. Because if you do, you're a damn fool.

I have seen reports that during WW II the U.S. undertook to intercept communications between Japanese agents and officials of Imperial Japan --WITHOUT ANY COURT SUPERVISION-- we even broke their codes without their permission. And now the same deal with these Al Quaida agents--will this 'illegal' spying never end?

Is there a single moonbat lie you don't accept as gospel? Dick Durbin accidentally ends up on the right side of more issues than you. Absolutely astounding...

"unchecked government surveillance" is purely hypothetical on your part. Go to the FISA site and read "everything".

The problem is that you think you should know everything that goes on in the intelligence department.

The terrorists would like to know the same thing.

I suppose if we're going to tell them everything, a USA citizen who is also a terrorist should at least have a seat on the intelligence committee so they don't get things piecemeal.

There's a reason for secrecy "IN WAR".

this man has an axe to grind and his was misusing his position in the NSA to get access private info on a coworker that he felt was a spy. He was told to stop but he went on to stalk her and to harrass her. He was spying on a fellow American and he broke the very rules he is accusing the NSA of breaking.

He is guilty of illegal domestic spying. He broke those laws yet he wants to point fingers at the NSA... Methinks he doth protest too much

One problem, there is no domestic spying going on.

This particular properly authorized surveilance program that is regularly monitored by YOUR elected leaders is perfectly legal and has been used in the past by several other Presidents.

You could do a little reading about what this country has already decided is legal and warranted - start here for instance - http://www.tscm.com/Surveill_Laws.html
