At 3 am, it's found out there is only the one survivor.
Whoever told the families several hours ago, that there were 11 survivors, is in serious trouble. So is the media. For several hours, officials, the governor, everyone was celebrating the miners being found alive.
MSNBC has had the breaking news "miners rescued", which I knew had to be incorrect. Only one person was "rescued", the others were "found", not rescued.
Evidently one call came to the families that there were survivors, and evidently a mine official reported the news to the family members in the church. Oh dear, this is horrible.
These mining families are furious, with officials, with the media. One woman is making a fool of herself, and CNN continues to showcase her obviously over-wrought, emotional accusations.
This is unreal. Another huge media blunder, they've been reporting untrue information for several hours. Who put the information out??? Heads gonna roll.
Anderson Cooper, "How in God's name did this happen?". Oh dear, Anderson is back in full Katrina mode!!!
The governor had to know what was told the families, the mining company owners are the ones who should be held responsible on this one!
OMG. Yours was the first post I read this morning; thank you so much for all that information because I got up and turned on the television and was stunned. I don't see how a mistake like this can happen.
Bad enough before to expect the bad news, but now having it happen like this. I'm speechless at what this has done to the families.
