They are saying the only survivor is the one that was in critical condition at the hospital.
Randy McCoy is the survivor on the way to WVU.
How horrible for these families. I can hear shouting on CNN.
This would be the absolutely worst case of misinformation in memory.

Who first reported that twelve were alive? Did the MSM tell the families that they were alive, or did the mine company? Whatever it is, it's as awful as one can imagine.

CNN - Scene is of shock...official said the news were not as good as they thought...
I thought it was the CEO of the mine company that gave the wrong information.
At 3 am, it's found out there is only the one survivor.
Whoever told the families several hours ago, that there were 11 survivors, is in serious trouble. So is the media. For several hours, officials, the governor, everyone was celebrating the miners being found alive.
MSNBC has had the breaking news "miners rescued", which I knew had to be incorrect. Only one person was "rescued", the others were "found", not rescued.
Evidently one call came to the families that there were survivors, and evidently a mine official reported the news to the family members in the church. Oh dear, this is horrible.
These mining families are furious, with officials, with the media. One woman is making a fool of herself, and CNN continues to showcase her obviously over-wrought, emotional accusations.
This is unreal. Another huge media blunder, they've been reporting untrue information for several hours. Who put the information out??? Heads gonna roll.
CNN - Inside church...screaming and crying...miner brother in law had called family to say everything was fine and then the bad news...sick to his stomach...

Ah God, it would have been met with gratefulness that one had survived, but to hear that they were all alive, then to lose them again is horrible. I had worried that someone may have had the information wrong, but I had hoped for the best.
Still, praise and prayers for the one. As the one man said, God is still good, even if they were all gone...
Still so horrible. How on earth could this information have gone so wrong? Did the reporters make it worse? Did the foreman have it wrong? Did rumor get mistaken for fact?
God help them all.
