Yes you are right, possesion doesnt guarantee a TD, however USC did get one after the non-called interception, explain how I am wrong there that if they had called it the game wouldnt be just as different as if they had called Youngs knee down on the lateral.

Enjoy yourself.

Well, we know that when LSU did play a PAC 10 team this year, it had a much lower margin of victory that USC had against the same team.........So much for the great SEC!

USC beat Fresno State 50-42. Lousiana Tech beat Fresno State 40-28 so by your logic, Lousiana Tech is better than USC.

My only consolation is that WVU is ranked ABOVE Virginia Tech! **sheepish grin** AND that 'BAMA is ranked above Auburn. :o) LOL

Look, the AP continues to award a national championship despite the BCS.

Lot's of polls do. It doesn't matter because the AP is a third party and USC signed on the deal where the BCS champion is the national champion.

Sports Illustrated even came up with 2 different national championship issues -- one featuring USC, the other LSU.

Because they knew that a lot of fanboys would buy it. You keep appealing to popularity in a case where USC signed a contract where the BCS champion would be the national champion. Auburn signed the same contract so they should have no complaint about last year - the system might not be great but it is the one that they signed on to.

"USC beat Fresno State 50-42. Lousiana Tech beat Fresno State 40-28 so by your logic, Lousiana Tech is better than USC." Uhhhhh.....you were the one claiming that the PAC-10 was weak compared to the SEC. I merely pointed out USC fared better against the lowly Pac -10 team than did your SEC team. Now, if want to point to Fresno State, fine, but Fresno State is a non-conference team. USC was #1 with a bullseye. Everyone brought their best game to USC.

Of course you totally ignore the fact that LSU played on the road, at night and a week after Katrina. That same LSU team lost to a Tennessee team that finished 5-6. It wasn't until a few weeks later that they recovered from all of the Katrina mess.

In any event, even with all that LSU went through, they still played ASU just as close as USC did and LSU wasn't even the SEC champion.

"Because they knew that a lot of fanboys would buy it. " SO why didn't they do the same with Auburn? "You keep appealing to popularity" No -- I'm referring to consensus. The consensus is USC was national champ in 2003 and 2004. You can disagree all you want -- but that was the general consensus. I hope, for your sake, the Braves get it right one of these years because the SEC seems to be a source of frustration for you! Gotta dash!

It wasn't just as close. LSU won by 4. USC won by 10. If you want to make Katrina excuses, go ahead. LOL! Have a nice day.

LOL - all other things being equal, conference games are considered tougher than out of conference games. Look at where most top ranked teams trip up - it's not out of conference but in conference.

USC did not get any points that, if reviewed, the play that resulted in those points would have been reversed. Texas did. An interception will result in a change of possession, however, that play, in and of itself, does not yeild points on the board unless it is run back for a TD, which it was not.

Let's be done with this cause my point is that one incident led directly to 6 points being awarded where the other did not.

Have a great weekend. It's my friday night.

LSU won by 4. USC won by 10.

USC was behind with 6 minutes to go. ASU was also driving to go ahead at the end of the game when the QB threw an INT and gave USC excellent field position to score a junk TD.

USC came much closer to losing that game than LSU did.

BTW, I don't give many excuses either, but Katrina was pretty exgtrordinary. If LA experienced a massive earthquake, I would certainly think that USC would be affected.

Go USC!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks to me like Texas ONLY has one good player, their QB.

Too Fast ... I'm just up now after a long celebration .... one was enough

You said possesion doesnt guarantee TD, not a play doesnt guarantee TD. USC possesion on that series gave them a TD. You are totally missing any point and therefore cant be reached, so therefore the discussion is ended I win.

Have a great weekend.

USC did not get any points that, if reviewed, the play that resulted in those points would have been reversed.

Assuming the play would be reversed is faulty. In a similar play involving UGA this year, the play was reviewed and not reversed since the player was in the act of pitching before his knee was down.

Thanks

He did kinda sound a little "biased" to me during the coverage.

But I figured it was abc so it was SOP to bash Texas because of Bush being from here.

http://www.bcsfootball.org/index2.cfm?page=about

"The BCS was established to determine the national champion for college football while maintaining and enhancing the bowl system that's nearly 100 years old. The BCS has quickly become a showcase for the sport, matching the best teams at the end of the season."

"The BCS, which runs through the 2009 regular season and 2010 bowl season, consists of the Rose Bowl, Nokia Sugar Bowl, FedEx Orange Bowl, the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and the BCS national championship game. Before the start of the 1998 season, the four bowls joined with the Atlantic Coast, Big East, Big 12, Big Ten, Pacific-10 and Southeastern Conferences and the University of Notre Dame to form the BCS. Conference USA also signed on to the agreement."

I don't much care what the media says about important stuff, why should I value their biased opinion in sports?
