On January 4, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. (PST) the Rose Bowl Game will host the BCS National Championship, between USC and Texas once again showcasing the best of collegiate football in "The Granddaddy of Them All."® The Rose Bowl will be broadcast exclusively on ABC and on ESPN radio.
Yeah, I think they may be but I'm a scorched fan. Everytime confidence rises, they've let down in past so I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. But they have a confidence this year they've lacked before, so that's a pivotal asset.
I agree, Dan. I think Vince is the real deal.
there aren't any rules pertaining to the coaches challenging a play....
Winners don't cry. You're mistaking the correction for whining.
They punt and Young starts at his own 20 and that's only if they don't rip a huge return. UT has 2 time outs to work with and 2 minutes plus the advantage of the clock stopping at 1st down. USC had no answer for Young tonight. They needed to try and keep the ball out of his hands and failed. The SC QB makes piss poor throw on 2nd down which falls to the ground and stops the clock. If they make that catch they have 3rd and 3 with time running. Credit Texas for making the big plays down the stretch. If their kicker could do anything then they simply could have kicked a field goal to win the damn game.
It's way past my bedtime. I'm out!
Dittohead, Snow Flake, and Bushbot, so what of it?
Great game! Congrats to Texas Longhorns! Got to see our hometown boy play, #8 Quan Cosby(freshman) from Mart, Texas! Hoping to see him work his magic as a receiver next year too!
Bush will make a great NFL running back in the mold of a Gayle Sayers. He did not play particularly well tonight, but credit the Texas defensive preparation for that. They played out of their ever-loving minds to shut him down.
OH...NO...well, I am gonna assume you...so thank you very much RTE66...for the wonderful win tonight!
yeah I have class at 9 tomorrow...
see ya man!!!
I agree on that. I couldn't care less about an AP championship. BCS is what counts. That's like AP giving the championship to Grambling just because they felt like it.
As for this game, and this year's bowl games, they were great. Vince did an awesome job.
Leinart will go second overall. The Saints need a QB, and he'll fit in there. He had a great performance in the second half. Too bad his comments after the game displayed arrogance, but only losing 2 games in your career might do that.
These quarterbacks all have a durability problem over time in the NFL, and they are forced to become pocket passers simply to keep themselves healthy.
Could someone post a picture of the tower with the number one on it? My wife, from the Pacific Northwest, has never seen a picture of it.
Oh, I'm still watching plenty on local. May have to go do something else after a little while. This MIGHT be a little bit of Sip overdose for me.
BIG TWELVE ROCKS & RULES!!!
Little too complacent hugh...
Well, he's got a good career to look back on. This is a game that will be looked back on for a long time.
Some of the superlatives showered on Young are a little over the top IMO, but that's our media these days. He's a great player, I'm nust not quite as convinced as some of the reporters that he's all that. In reality the guy very nearly lost this game. I will concede that he played a good game against another team that wasn't a pushover though.
I'm sure Bush will be kicking himself after that ridiculous lateral play in the first quarter cost USC a FG and possibly the game. An unforced, stupid turnover is unforgivable in the biggest game of the year.
And Pete Carroll is no defensive coach genius. I would have had two defenders shadowing Young all game. And I've seen better tackling in pee wee leagues.
My pleasure. Glad you enjoyed them.
