On January 4, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. (PST) the Rose Bowl Game will host the BCS National Championship, between USC and Texas once again showcasing the best of collegiate football in "The Granddaddy of Them All."® The Rose Bowl will be broadcast exclusively on ABC and on ESPN radio.

You're welcome, but I didn't know I was necessarily agreeing with you though. The refs are doing an awful job (including the ref in the booth who didn't call for a review of that lateral).
I guess it's a question of semantics: is the man in the booth a ref or an official?
He's part of the officiating crew, and he blew it big time.

The old guy announcer has to go, time to hang it up.He did. His "first last game" was the 1999 Fiesta Bowl between FSU and Tennessee. Yet despite his much ballyhooed retirement, he won't go away.
Frankly, I always thought he was a Big Ten partisan, but that is who his network covered.

USC should have challenged the play. They don't have the choice. How can the refs not call for a replay, when it would have been shown on instant replay on the big screen TV at the stadium?
