~ The FReeper Canteen Presents ~

Modern Times:
What are your predictions for 2006?

Welcome to the FReeper Canteen!

Next Wednesday we'll begin a new exciting series: The Canteen Kids will begin doing threads for our Troops and the Canteen!! So? Don't miss out the chance to see the next generation of Canteeners do their thing!!

As for this week, we shall return to an old favorite!

Your Opinions Please

Main Topic:

What are your predictions for 2006?

Examples follow below:

1. The Cubs will win the World Series and tomkow will be forced to take a bath. (*snicker*)

2. Reggie Bush, of USC, will become the second most popular Bush in the state of Texas.

3. Our Troops will continue to get the job done at home and abroad.

4. Congress will yet again give themselves a raise. Just goes to show that creating a lot of hot air will eventually pay off.

5. MoJo will still hate eating tofu.

6. hotstreak will still hate eating cheese.

7. Outside of winning the World Cup, most Americans will still ignore soccer as a whole.

See how this works?

Rules:

1. No
politics!

2. Keep it funny, but remember this is a family site.

3. Graphics and pictures are great to share.

Before we leave you, The FReeper Canteen, Mr.Tonkin, and MoJo would like to thank Spotsy for doing the Pancakes on Wednesday when someone was needed to fill in. She did a fabulous job. Despite having limited time, she made sure that our Troops had a thread every Wednesday. Thank you Spotsy! Don't stay gone too long!!

Have at it folks!!

Somehow I knew the upset cart in the mirror aisle had something to do with it...

And did you mention aching back? I put together a file cabinet night before last and my lower back hurt like a sonofagun.

Hope the aches and pains go away soon!

Predictions for 2006

Republicans will lose some seats - not enough to make a difference. More dems will retire because they're not in power.

Bloggers will become more powerful, not less. Much to the surprise of the MSM.

China, after topping of their strategic reserve of oil will expand work on fallout shelters. They understand Iranians...

More frequent hurricanes will make Bush's "we'll rebuild New Orleans" into the MSM's updated "read my lips, no new taxes"...

Iran's taunting Israel. The seemingly irrational taunts are an intentional strategic plan. They're insane, not crazy.

Dems will dump Dean. They'll join the mainstream moving toward the right.

Housing will weaken, not burst. Inflation returns, but not in double digits.

That looks just like our new bathroom...except that our window is frosted.

If that's double pane glass, do not put any kind of film or decoration on it. It will change the way the window heats and cools, and will break the glass. At least, that's what our builder told us.

The home is still under warranty, of course...any way you can ask the builder to put in frosted/tempered glass?

As for decorating tips...well, I'm probably the last person to offer good advice. I'm the kind of guy who might suggest putting up a miniature shower curtain as a sort of whimsical touch!

I was thinking maybe. . . That way I can pull it down for privacy but have it open to let the sun and breeze in?

LOL. Mini shower curtain!

Being that the person who had the house built went very light on the upgrades, we are stuck. The development is not doing anymore releases and most of the contractors are gone.

So, I'm looking at a type of blind ^^ See above.

I saw that...the gold color may be just right...you going to go with greens/golds as your decor? Or was that just the color the picture happened to be?

Our place is similar...the last house in the development to be sold, and almost no upgrades whatsoever. No garage door opener, no landscaping in the back...I can see lots of home improvement projects in the upcoming year!

The photo just happened to be yellow...yellow/green decor is out as they are Oakland A's colors! I've also stressed that an orange/black color scheme is out as well.

However, our den/guestroom will have our sports stuff in it - but tastefully done. My mother-in-law laughed when she saw the curio cabinet she passed on to me. She had all of her pretties in it - I had my signed baseball stuff. LOL She actually thought it was great.

We are in the same boat - no garage door opener, no landscaping, etc. But my brother-in-law is a know it all, show off. He will offer to do the garage door and such so I told my hubby to put his pride in his pocket and let the guy do it. It will be done right and we will just have to buy the stuff. :)
