...."It was not paradise, but it was peaceful">....

You forgot the /sarc tag.

Shurly you don't think hanging people from posts and car bombings were peacefull? Just talking to a Jew in a civil manner was a death sentence. Not fawning over Araphat was the same as eating pork.

Sucks for a "palestinian" to look in the mirror. The truth hurts.

(Gaza was not supposed to turn out this way.)

When high taxes cause recessions...it is not supposed to turn out this way.

When welfare checks destroy black families...it is not supposed to turn out this way.

When increasing the minimum wage causes unemployment...it is not supposed to turn out this way.

When multiculturalism and celebrating our differences causes us to hate each other...it is not supposed to turn out this way.

However, being a liberal means never having to say I'm sorry, even when it predictably turns out this way.

Seriously, before the Oslo accords and Caaaa-ter, then Clintoon cartoon act it was peaceful in Gaza. The recent roadmap has just thrown gasoline on the Oslo fires.

One thing politicians promise is peace, the thing they always deliver is war. One thing soldiers promise is war, what they always deliver is peace.

Its a strange world...

Yhe reason for this is not Israel but Yassar. He would not let there be a orderly succession. I deivied and conquered from within. Hope he melts over and over again in Hell.

Snork.....anyone with an ounce of common sense knew this is where it would end up.

How long before they setup a Taliban style regime with terrorist training camps? What action will Israel and the US take when this happens?

30 years ago and nothing effective.

"Gaza sprials into lawlessness"

With gangsters like Arafat (may his name be blotted out) and the PLO running things, not unexpected. Like if Capone had been mayor of Chicago in the 20s. Gaza is like south-central LA or many other big inner cities, the various gangs fight for control. The PLO vs. Hamas or PLO vs. Islamic jihad could easily be the Crips vs. the Bloods.

Ok, let me claify -- How long before they setup a Taliban style regime with terrorist training camps traced to direct terrorist actions within the US homeland? What action will the US take when this happens?

Eff 'em. Let them kill each other. Any culture that has to resort to suicide bombing is doomed. They don't even care about their children. They send their most precious elements of their culture off to blow themselves up. If I totally believed in Darwinism I'd say he's very hard at work in this instance. Let 'em die off. Backwards freaks.

I don't know what "American lefties" you're hearing from, but from two other forums that I frequent (no not DU), here's the general attitude of the "progressive" Democrats: Ariel Sharon is being too aggressive; the "Jewish settlers" have "occupied" for too long.

I don't think Sharon has been aggressive enough and yielding to the terrorists has not proven to sway them towards any peace for Israel.

By the way, Mike Wallace actually did a pretty good job of exposing Arafat and his followers on a past 60 Minutes show:

(one of the few cbs shows that I am glad I saw)

Yeah, but the way you win wars is kill all the SOB's until they will accept anything as long as they are alive. If I was running Israel, I would, after a bomb attack on a bus or others suitable excuse, march into the "so called" Palestinian terrortory( misspelled on purpose), and kill them until somebody said "enough", "Ca, can, can't we all just get along?" This will never end because even if the pols agree on Gaza and the West Bank, then you have Jerusalem. Try to imagine ANY scenario the Jews would give up Jerusalem. Try to imagine any scenario the Pale's would also. Ain't gonna happen. Never!

This is one reason I have such faith in the Bible. There will be no peace until Jesus comes back. All pol's should know this, especially Bush. These peace accords and summits are just window dressing to act like we are doing something constructive. The Jews could fix the problem by marching to the sea and flushing the trash as they go. The world will never let them. I predict the Israeli's will have to fix the Iran problem themselves because the world thinks the Jews are the problem and don't care. I just hope the US NEVER abandons the Jews. God won't be happy.
