The President and first lady returned to the White House yesterday accompanied by their daughter Barbara, and of course their pets. Before leaving Texas, the President visited Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas and spent time with wounded servicemen and women, and awarded nine Purple Hearts to U.S. troops who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Today being a Federal holiday there are no scheduled events for the President so follows Snug's Review of 2005.
Former US president George Bush is expected to visit Pakistan later this month as the United Nations special envoy for the South Asian earthquake
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island

I think you would have to get up very early to catch GWB out he is one smart cookie.
In fact sometimes he is so smart the media do not even realise what he has said or done

As long as I am better by next week it should be ok. I feel lots better than I did last Friday. I have been sleeping quite a bit so I am getting time to get better.
Phil stayed in Texas to be with his elderly father. I had to return to Phoenix to fight the custody battle where Holly's dad started the paperwork. He is bright enough to lose it for himself. It is just tiring and frustrating.
My boys and ex-husband and grandbaby lives here in Phoenix. I am staying with a friend until I am well enough to sub part time again.

it will be one year Jan 8 that Miss Beezley arrived? amazing. It doesn't seem that long ago. and she is still much smaller than Barney. Is she fully grown? are females smaller than males of this breed. I really don't know much about dog breeds generally

just life.. in the "weird lane" I guess. things will sort out. I am at some cross roads of decisions in many regards. The past few days have been emotionally difficult for many reasons and had a few bumps today that just ruffled the soul a bit more. Thank you for asking.
Eleanor.. I never know what pix to save. I book marked this thread both in my FR & my computer archives. Sometimes the pix disappear & I do the "aw drat" jig for not saving them. But I hate to continually save all & put on server, if it is in place elsewhere. Not sure you have an answer, prolly you experience the same dilemma

Thank you, thank yo u!
I just started feeling like the asthma was too hard to control last thursday and got scheduled to see the doc Friday and even with this crazy flu thing going on, they could fit me in. As it turned out, I have a sinus infection and the antibiotics made my stomach most upset...it also just happens to feel like I got hit with the flu, too.
Then there is the surgery a week from tomorrow.
Holly's dad has been the never-ending saga and he is just using the court as another venue for abuse. He has made a few major mistakes, though...
Thank you again.

Normally there is not much difference between male and female with Scotties in size but in this case Miss Beazley is much smaller, she should be full grown.
Kath has mentioned that Beezie is small for a Scottie, also the male and female head is slightly different but as some of the photos are not that clear you cannot always tell that one

I am sure your immune system was depressed wtih the emotional roller coaster. What type of surgery are you having (if it is not a MYOB) question? You may have stated before but often we miss some parts if not all the posting.
I will admit to coming to Dose on occasion & just grazing thru pix, due to time constraints

What a great "Year in the Life of President George W. Bush" --- just a wonderful recapping of all the major events. Thank you so much for all your work. You're in my prayers, and I wish you and your Dad comfort and peace this new year.
I noticed Liz Cheney and Karen Hughes at this meeting

I tend to save most photos to my hard drive I think I have well over 8,000 now.
I upload those onto my photo server (photobucket) when I want to post them again.
One solution if you do not want them on your hard drive save them to DVD if your writer and software will allow you to use the DVD like a giant floppy InCD or Direct CD are 2 the 2 software programs I know of.
A tip here though, copy the DVD/CD from time to time as I have had CDs just die I did not keep them in direct sunlight or anything but I do think they have a shelf life.

Kate .. so sorry to hear you're under the weather and fighting ugly legal battles at the same time. I never take antibiotics without taking pro-biotics, like acidopholous or yogurt .. the live cultures neutralize the damaging effects of the antibiotic, which kill all the good guys. Acidopholous, etc. keep things in balance and will about eliminate that stomach ache.
I do have a cure for sinus problems I learned from the nutritionist I worked for years ago .. but it's weird: pulverized horseradish root (in a juice extractor), mixed with freshly squeezed lemon juice to the consistency of thin cream. Gretchen's been helped in the past. Let me know if you'd like it, and I'll FReep mail ya. Best wishes for better days.

I have plenty of hard drive space - that is not a concern.. My computer hard drive is 250 & I have 4 externals with between 120 - 300 Gig each. It is just the time/organization/etc.AND the trying to find things. I would like to have one hard drive just family; one friends' on politics etc.. BUT right now all is spread over all of them & we are talking big projects to do this type of sorting.
I have been motivated to change gears to do work again on some books I started & then put on back burner. Priority changes will have to ensue..

I know the one about finding them. I had that this afternoon when I wanted a few photos on an event or 2 that was not covered on the White House Website which I used for most of today's photos. I had to think where I had filed them.
My general rule is main directory with surname and then broken into many sub directories, on the whole it works but sometimes it does take me 10 mins plus to find a photo.

Most of them should remain as they are from the White House Website or my server the only ones that may disappear are the ones from yesterday that are Yahoo photos.

I have the same directory organization.. but I have one on many hard drives. some have duplicate pix.. & some unique.
For example with GWB. I have 22 directories under (Laura, twins, parents, Texas gov, crawford, poly toons, w/heads state/ ; cabinet; blair, etc).. in one directory alone. that file has 38 gig of pix & that is just one of the several hard drives.
I often just give up looking for pix. I know it is SOMEWHERE
