Bush rope-a-dopes libs … again
By Dave Weinbaum

Never lower your head to someone that possesses a lethal uppercut

Bush has suffered the insults of arrogant Southpaws as long as he's been winning elections. In fact, some might say, Jr. WINS elections because of the sympathy his verbal lashings beget both from Repubs and moderate Dems. Like Reagan before him, W has learned how to handle the insults and turn them into his advantage. Unlike Ronnie, Bush can't out-charm, out-banter, or out story-tell his degraders.

Bush is now the master of the kind of political rope-a-dope that would have Ali jealous. Mohammed only used it once. Bush has made a career of it. Most amazing is that Libs fall for it time after time after time. And I thought they were the smart ones! Silly me!

**SNIP**

You may think you're a step ahead, but that's only because Bush is about to lap you.

Bush has served as the official enigma of the Demos and much of the rest of the world. They believe he is the dumbest most detestable person on the face of their Earth. They despise him 10 times more than Osama and Hussein combined.

Why? Beats me! Seems to me he's a likable enough chap. He bends over backwards to be nice to the most virulent of his critics, Teddy "Glub Glub" Kennedy, and Bill "The Impeached" Clinton. I can only speculate that Libs:

1. After the enormous whoppers Bill and Hillary told, have a need to find an equivalent liar on the other side.

2. They have a bad case of impeachment envy.

False leaders lose themselves in minutia

As I see it, there is widespread misunderstanding of what characteristics make for a good president.

Take Carter and Clinton and compare their styles to Bush.

What a great article! The president has got to be the kindest man ever to serve as president. If my critics treated me the way his does, I'd try to bury them :-)

Still, we lost ground in the elections this year, and the 2006 elections are coming up. Not to mention that Hillary is poised for 2008 and it doesn't look like there'll be any noteworthy opposition. Add to that the indisputable fact that, although the Republicans have been given a mandate, they don't seem to be able to do what they need to do with it, i.e., crush the Dems for the forseeable future. The article is right....Bush is taking it and taking it and taking it....He's losing ground and needs to take it back.

My future dilemma: Imagine the 2008 general election pits McCain against Hillary! Ugh...

They despise him 10 times more than Osama and Hussein combined.

I feel the same way about Clinton, it's not so hard to understand.  The blood spilled on 9-11 will always be on Clinton's hands in my mind because of a do-nothing administration about terrorism, OBL was just a tool.  We are all victims of the Clinton presidency.

My point exactly. If we don't start showing the country who and what we are, we'll get Hillary or McCain.

I disagree. This guy thinks the 'Rats are George Foreman? GIVE ME A BREAK!

Bush is a likable enough "chap" and is, in my opinion, a true-blue Republican when it comes to national security and fighting a war.

However, where Bush is failing miserably is in the domestic war of honesty and ideas in politics we are fighting here at home.

If Kerry or any 'Rat for that matter had any hint of honesty or decency this "rope a dope" "strategery" might be necessary. However, Bush barely won in '04 (against KERRY?!) and still treats the 'Rats like they have something worthwhile to say.

This "rope a dope" analogy is BS. The self-serving 'Rats are so weak and devoid of character and ideas it should be a 10 second knockout in the first round against a 98 lb weakling every time they bring Bush into the ring.

Cheer up, 2008 isn't here yet.

Haven't you heard? An angel in a whirlwind directs this storm.

Jimmy Carter anyone, or Bill Clinton?

NOTHING changed hands in the 2005 election. It was status quo. You can make the argument that the gubernatorial election in Virginia was a disappointment but was New Jersey really a major loss?

Great article. I have always thought that one of the big reasons for the dems unreasoning hatred of President Bush is his refusal to fit the dumbness they assigned to him. Tiem after time he has shown a shredness and common sense that the simply refuse to believe. Consequently they are left looking stupid themselves time after time.
I have always felt that 9-11 happened partly because of the left political rhetoric that the President is dumb. I guess they found out that the dems are not to be believed, they don't know what they are talking about.
