NEW YORK -- There was more to celebrate than the ball dropping in Times Square for Dick Clark _ the personality who's been ringing in the New Year for decades made his first television appearance since a stroke in late 2004.
Clark, sitting behind a desk with the street scene in the background, sounded hoarse and occasionally was hard to understand, but he said, "I wouldn't have missed this for the world."
"Last year I had a stroke," he explained. "It left me in bad shape. I had to teach myself how to walk and talk again. It's been a long, hard fight. My speech is not perfect but I'm getting there."

The picture in Post 30 makes her eyes look anything but CFM . . .
I didn't watch Dick Clark. But I see age is finally catching up to "the world's oldest teenager". But, then again, there's Ryan Seacrest, who I cannot stand.
The lower the budget, the better! That way they aren't spending an inordinate amount of time scripting plotlines. ;)
I agree with both of you...Ohio and Howlin...
The hateful attitudes get rather old...and are not a good display......
Yeah, she reminds me of a two-bit crack whore who still managed to retain all of her teeth. I can't stand her clothing style or her singing style.
There's only so much high-falsetto screeching I can handle.
I liked her singing, at least in the beginning of her career. But she's so tacky in her style and attire. Beyonce for instance, pulls off the sexy diva look much more successfully. She manages to look glitzy without looking trashy, most of the time.
........ I like that girl...... a lot.
I'd go 'beyonce the sea' to see her.
If she was a crack ho she'd weigh much less.
I rather see Clark with a stroke than Seacrist normal.
I agree.
WOW! Watching O'Reilly (forgive me- I'm bored)
anyway- saw his appearance played back by Bill....
WOW! I am so very impressed with him. His courage is beyond anything I would have ever given him credit for...
His appearacne was flashy or over done.. it was just simple and honest... blew me away.... WOW!

I don't know how to post "images", but here are two very nice pictures of her. (feel free to post one or both.)

I hope he continues to have his speech come back to him. That has to be horribly frustrating. He was always a good guy. I remember him back in the late 50's doing Bandstand out of Philly. He was always very pleasant and unpresumptious.

Bandstand began as a local program on WFIL-TV (now WPVI), Channel 6 in Philadelphia on October 7, 1952. Then it was hosted by Bob Horn and was called Bob Horn's Bandstand. On July 9 of 1956 the show got a new host, a clean-cut 26 year old named Dick Clark. When ABC picked the show up, it was renamed American Bandstand, airing it's first national show on August 5, 1957. The show was moved to Los Angeles in 1964. From 1963 to 1987 Bandstand was on only once a week, on Saturday. Briefly it was part of the USA Network with new host David Hirsh but went off the air in 1989.
Saw it for the first time on BOR too. I was very touched and proud for him. Those who are offended are the ones with a problem. Want to cover their eyes at the afflicted. I am more embarrassed for them than Dick Clark. He is fighting hard. We should all be cheering him on!!
I agree, I don't think he should have done it.
