If I lived in the neighborhood, I would complain. Unless the enemy is using megaphones, protest quietly at that time of night.

Kristinn- what are their grounds if you have a permit covering your activity?

like always it is ok for code pinkos to make noise but not the conservative FRs. So much for equality and tolerance.

Considering the fact that you have a permit that allows you the use of megaphones, but you choose to refrain from using amplification shows that the FR group is considerate.
Are the Code Pinkos using megaphones?
To: kristinn
Dude - call the ACLU - they'll take it all the way to SCOTUS...
Meanwhile, back in reality...see if you can find neighbors sympathetic to our point of view to file complaints against Code Pinkos.

This is so upsetting. Code Pink tortures everyone with tired songs and they have a habit of going in and out of traffic. If anyone didn't read the link to the hand out that they distributed in September you should. The group urges everyone to complain and makes themselves sound like saints.

True, you have a right to be heard and to voice your opinions; but if you ignore a municipal noise ordinance it is at your own peril.
Have the cops _measured_ you to determine whether or not you ARE breaking the ordinance? How loud are you? Do you have a sound level meter? Have you measured yourselves?
What is the limit in the ordinance (sound level at a particular distance)? Doing your homework is a Good Thing.
see: http://www.radioshack.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=sound%20level%20meter
$40 is a lot cheaper than a fine.

In a way I am sorry to hear this BUT if the bottom line is that the pinkos are silenced.. well, then that is good.
Is there any chance you can get a permit from WR to be on the grounds? there should be nothing preventing your group from being in the lobby with handshakes, wmiles & good words for family & troops..
This might be the opening for something bigger & better..
keep us posted via ping/perhaps just with this thread.
Thank you for ALL you do!

Thanks for letting us know...
THIS stinks bad...and what a Bah! Humbug! during the Holidays!
I think they might want to rethink pushing ya'll around..because I can forsee more freepers wanting to join your group...for MORE voices.
I bet if the patients at Walter Reed were asked, they would say they appreciate what you do.
Is there any way you could maybe get a copy of the flyer that Code Pinko supposedly put on the doors of the neighbors?

We plan to formally challenge tonight's order as a violation of our First Amendment rights. D.C. case law is extremely "liberal" when it comes to exercising First Amendment rights and we believe there is strong grounds for our right to vocalize our political beliefs.Whatever you do, don't ask the ACLU for help.
They'll brag about it for years to come.
