Libs Take Credit for Bush's Approval Climb

It is amusing to watch liberals try to explain away the recent upswing in President Bush's approval rating, from around 39 percent to 47 percent. Sure enough, they've figured a way to attribute the turnaround to a validation of their positions rather than his policies.

They are promoting the idea that President Bush's popularity increase is due to his admission of "mistakes" on Iraq. But this is merely wishful thinking. Ever since President Bush attacked Iraq, Democrats have been castigating him for doing it and for how he's handled the operation every step of the way. After all, their best political hope is either that we fail in Iraq or, if we succeed, that they can somehow taint the effort from its inception by showing he lied to get us into an unnecessary and costly war.

Their persistence finally paid off as the public -- treated to almost exclusively negative reporting from the mainstream media (MSM) along with the Democrats' ceaseless naysaying -- grew nervous about the war and lost some confidence in President Bush.

IMO The Democrats ARE responsible for the rise in President Bush's approval rating.

Their recent attacks have become so irresponsible and ridiculous even more people are coming to realise just how stupid and traitorous the democrats are.

The only position the dims have is to have the USA lose. The dims hope for an America of breadlines and suing for peace with Osama. I can't stomach them.

I think it's actually worse for the MSM/dems than they could ever imagine.

Because of the incessant hate Bush/America drive and who they've attached theirselves too, they have shown their true colors and are doomed. The NYT is right now a complete bane on them, and the best part about it is they welcome it!

Hillary has to be hoping time is her friend...

The left never supported Bush and they never will. The reason his polls were down was because his constituents were fed up with him not responding agressively to his attackers. Once he fired back, the real conservatives got back behind him. Just as it should be IMO.

It is nearly always the same reason. The economy in 9 out of 10 situations determines a presidents popularity. If a war gone bad hurt a president with voters how do you explain Richard Nixon getting 60.7 percent of the votes in 1972 after 8 years of Viet Nam.

The presidents approval on all fronts is almost always directly related to the economy. The main stream media has spent last summer, this fall and winter telling everyone the economy was going in the dumpster. And just like the little boy that cried wolf, at first the voters believed them. But by this Christmas season people stopped believing the media crying wolf about the economy. Their own observations proved the media was lying.

Look at all the stories they ran about how bad christmas business was, yet it turned out that buisness was up over 8 percent. It was great selling season. Obviously shoppers did not believe the media. Picture this it is December 10th... on the car radio the network news is saying how christmans business is not doing so well. You are trying to find a parking place in the mall. You end up having to walk a long way to the mall entrance. The stores are packed. You have to wait in line for what seems forever to check out. The other people in the check out lines have bought many items. It take the clerks some time to check them out. When you finally get back to your car it is an hour later.. the news is on again. They say business at the shopping malls is bad... The question is, does it occur to you that the media is lying?

When it turned out that what the media's said about the ecnomy was a lie, then the feared bad economy that was all Bush's fault turned out to be a great economy that must be all Bush's doing. And with elections taking place in Iraq it might just occur to some people that a media that lies about the economy might be lying about the war in Iraq. It might also occur to a few people that if the media is lying about Bush then perhaps it is Bush who is truthing.

When people figured out they were being lied to about the economy, they might just figure they are being lied to about other things as well.

A coworker thinks that our strategy has changed in Iraq because of the dims screaming and stamping their feet. I try to tell him that most of what has been happening has been in the plan the entire time. He won't have any of that.

I saw a bumper sticker yesterday that said, Defend America: DEFEAT Bush

Their war is against the President, not the terrorists!

What comes to mind here is the way the evil donkey's hero, the soviet union, was brassy enough to blame America for the Iran hostage siege. It took those punks two weeks to figure out the language, but they did. What the rats are doing now is straight out of the old soviet handbook of constant unrelenting bull shiite.

Except the Democrats were making irresponsible and off the mark comments before.

The difference is that the President is setting the record straight, stating he still made the right decision and listing the positive outcomes, and forcing Dems on defensive. When you put Dems on defensive, hard to believe, they get even more nuts.

So, yes, the President uses this to his advantage and it's deteimwntal to Dems but he had to set the events in motion by coming out Nov. 11th and pelting them non stop. I think it's fair to give the President credit for finding their weakness spot and exploiting it to maximum effect.
