Following the Dec. 7 season finale of South Park, titled "Bloody Mary," the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights slammed the network for its irreverent portrayal of church icons and sought to block the episode from being rebroadcast.
It appears the group may have met with success. A repeat of the finale was scheduled to air Wednesday night, but was seemingly pulled from the Comedy Central lineup without explanation.
In the episode, a statue of the Virgin Mary is believed to be bleeding from its rear end, inspiring faithful parishioners to flock from miles around to be healed by the miraculous blood.

You mean just to be an obnoxious ass. :~D
"I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!"
How could anyone misrepresent something as gross as the plots you describe?
Gross is as Gross does. Its not funny.
I would think they could come up with something much more creative than that. I will admit sometimes the things they do gross me out, but to only look at their lowbrow humor is to miss the much more prevalent intelligent humor they have. No one else lampoons politics and celebrities as well as they do. Sometimes it is disguised as being sophmoric, but I defy you to find any other comedy that summed up the 2004 election as well as SP's mascot election between a giant douche and a turd sandwich.
Just trying to fit in to the audience.
Trust me, you don't.
Here I thought my skit on recycling was original.
They actually did it. (oh well, I missed that episode I guess.)
You have to admit it was right in line with what they think is funny though.
Whew! that's a relief. I thought it was just me.
I laughed out loud at that part. And I'm a Catholic who was rooting for Ratzinger the entire election period.
Seriously, a message to my fellow Catholics: stop freaking out about this and worry about something that matters, like the Da Vinci Code.
Er... I thought that they converted to Catholicism.
No, they are ALL equally worth being ridiculed.
If it was done using one dimensional paper cutouts and there was a story behind it, yes there is a good chance it would be funny.
You don't get it? Why not have the statue bleeding from its eyes?
No, you don't get it. It is obvious if you watched the episode. Stan's dads thought he won his battle with alcoholism because of the miracle. If the statue was bleeding from it's eyes, this would in fact be true. Since it was bleeding from it's vagina, there was no miracle since women bleed from their vagina all the time. Obviously, Stan's dad quit drinking because his own will power. That was the whole point.
If you are going to attack the show, at least know what you are talking about.
I agree with you more than 100%, if that's possible. I should ping the list, but I just don't want to enable more people to read about the disgusting show.
Notice how the word "irreverence" is practically - well, holy?
Anything reminiscent of holiness, virtue, reverence - is ridiculed and scorned. Even common human decency and politeness is becoming outre behavior. Cool means nasty, mean, vile, impudent, and cruel.
We live in a world gone mad, in many respects.
The entire episode is about the virtue of self-discipline.
Since I am not English, and you are so much better informed than myself, maybe you can explain. What's wrong with menstruation?
Maybe it boils down to the simple fact that the English, or many of them, consider the term offensive, so that when around them one should avoid the term to avoid trouble. Those who likie the "South Park" people who make their living by throwing bricks through other people's windowns should not be surprised when people throw the bricks back at them.
Ummm... what does that have to do with the episode in question? Do you also have a grudge against bartenders?
You still didn't explain what is evil about menstruation. My GF does it every month and I am a happy camper when I find out.
