The owner of an illegal abortion clinic in Beijing said 99 percent of women seeking abortion have discovered they are carrying a girl.

I never thought I would say this, but I commend the Chinese for making this law.

I have a great idea, maybe they should just outlaw abortion all together.

Don't think they're doing it for humanitarian reasons. The Chinese have just figured out what kind of society they'll have if it's disproportionately male.

Not to be rude, but there are going to be either a lot more brothels in China or homos or both. Something the Left in our country appreciates.

You shouldn't feel that way. If they come up with good policies we should commend them.

The Chinese themselves predict that if the trend continues they'll have 40 million more men than women in a decade. And they won't all turn homosexual. They're facing a testosterone overload of enormous magnitude. Rather than brothels, more likely will be a society which enslaves women and sells them like chatel.

Or a lot more cannon fodder.

Thanks - pinging will commence later.

Very very sad. They should just allow people to have babies. Look at Western Europe and Japan. Losing population. Even Poland is. And the US would be if it weren't for immigration, if I'm not mistaken.

They brought this on themselves, at least they have finally woken up to the fact that a country of all males, or nearly all males, will have a life that is nasty, brutal, and short.

The Indians might try getting a clue, they are having a growning problem with this also.

On the other hand, given the laws of supply and demand that we capitalists are all familiar with, might not women in China become MORE valuable?

I've always thought that the very best way to rid the world of the worst people was to come up with a pill that virtually guarantees a male child, distribute it on the black market, and watch the most sexist, repressive societies on earth breed themselves out of existence. It would work remarkably well on the Muslimes.

They now have their "expendable" military force with this 40,000,000 excess of boys.

This policy is not about morals, only about more control by Communist forces. If they only allowed two children per family this issue would virtually go away by itself. But with the one-child policy, families that want to maintain the family name for the next generation do that with the male name only.

The ChiComs must be ready for the next military move as they seem to have satisfied their male fighting quota.

The danger of introducing technology (ultrasound and abortion) to a society that has not made social progress. India is in the same boat, remote or backward villages still practice infanticide on the girls. The scary thing is who they would use that military against. Taiwan first, but then what? And we do NOT want a nuke fight.

I thought China supported abortion. Have they done a 180?

Moral Absolutes Ping.

Article speaks for itself. But where are the feminists? Why are they not protesting the cruelty and insanity of the one child law and consequent slaughter of female babies?

Crickets chirping...

All liberals are seething pits of internal inconsistency. Their beliefs nullify each other, there is nothing left but a rancid void.

Freepmail me if you want on/off this pinglist.

You do know the answer to the above question, don't you?

ANYTHING that shows the liberal sacrament of abortion in a negative light, is ignored by them. Legalized abortion must be saved at ANY COST, even the cost of female lives.

Thus, as you say, the benefits of feminism are nullified by the nightmare of abortion.
