Tom Cruise Voted Most Irritating Star Of All Time
THE INDY CHANNEL ^ | 12/29/2005 | AP

LONDON -- Maybe it was jumping on Oprah's couch.

Or perhaps it was his testy interview with Matt Lauer on NBC's "Today" show, or his constant expressions of love for his fiancee, Katie Holmes.

Maybe it was all of those things combined that prompted British movie fans to name Tom Cruise the most irritating actor in Hollywood.

Cruise was found to be more annoying than Jennifer Lopez, Julia Roberts, Adam Sandler or Jim Carrey.

Britain's Empire magazine surveyed 10,000 movie fans.

But while Cruise may annoy them off camera, they still like his movies. They named him the greatest movie star of all time.

He hasn't reached his prime yet.

He's got another 30 years of films in him.

I figure that the political triator-type are revolting. The nuisance-type personalties are irritating.

:-)

Ben Affleck is one of the worst actors I have ever seen.

You misspelled Keanu Reeves.

You should change your moniker to fastasleep.

Congratulations. You are the one millionth loser to parody my screenname.

Tom Cruise is surely one of the greats.

Ten thousand years from now, America will be remebered for four things: the Constitution, baseball, jazz and Cocktail.

Color of Money with Paul Newman

Clearly you don't know enough about American movies to realize that The Color Of Money is an embarrassing retreaded shadow of the truly great American movie The Hustler.

It was a terrible, terrible movie. "Hey Grady! Up your ass with the spot!" Wow. What classic dialogue.

Collateral with Foxx and Pinkett...

Possibly the year's most overrated movie.

the list goes on.

Oh boy, does it ever.

Legend. Sucked.

Far And Away. Painful to watch.

Days Of Thunder. Awful.

The Firm. The scene where he meets with his mafia clients is the lamest.

Interview With a vampire. Yuck.

Jerry Maguire. A master class in overacting.

Eyes Wide Shut. Overblown, pretentious garbage.

Magnolia Did I say Eyes Wide Shut was overblown pretentious garbage?

Vanilla Sky. Comparing this remake with the Spanish original is like . . . comparing The Hustler with The Color Of Money.

What exactly do you see in this closet case?

Is it a star crush?

LOL!

I never did find out what that jumping on Oprah was all about. A drug reaction? Attempt to show how fit he is? Or he was just having a fit?

Should I have put a sarcasm tag at the end of my post or did you recognize it as an actual quote from Tom Cruise to Matt Lauer on the Today Show that I was making fun of? I can't tell from your comment.

You seem confused. If you make a small donation of $200 to the Church, we can help you work out your issues.

(Of course I got it! There's nothing better than NOT playing along with the script!)

Right, thanks, I can never remember that name. I guess I'd agree it was pretty formulaic. I just like Jamie Foxx and that part suited him, but I was impressed that Tom Cruise could act at all, to tell you the truth.

Agreed. Cruise has put out some very entertaining movies. And I watch movies to be entertained. I have no interest whatsoever in his personal life or how tall/short he is. Nicholas Cage - same thing.

I would have nominated Phalix Baldweenie (aka Alec Baldwin) for the all-time top spot on this list.
