LONDON -- Maybe it was jumping on Oprah's couch.
Or perhaps it was his testy interview with Matt Lauer on NBC's "Today" show, or his constant expressions of love for his fiancee, Katie Holmes.
Maybe it was all of those things combined that prompted British movie fans to name Tom Cruise the most irritating actor in Hollywood.
Cruise was found to be more annoying than Jennifer Lopez, Julia Roberts, Adam Sandler or Jim Carrey.
Britain's Empire magazine surveyed 10,000 movie fans.
But while Cruise may annoy them off camera, they still like his movies. They named him the greatest movie star of all time.
He really needs to come out of the closet.
I guess a "Limey" rag can't be far behind.
Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, and George Clooney make Tom Cruise look like Betty Crocker. Sheesh.

In other words, they were smoking crack.
He will be remembered for being in Top Gun and maybe A Few Good Men.
His "serious" roles have aged pretty poorly - including Rain Man and Born On The Fourth Of July.
Mentioning his name in the same breath as Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant or Orson Welles is a joke, let alone claiming he was better than all of them.
Hard to believe anyone like that can function with such little brain power.
Oh I agree. I can name handfuls of more annoying stars of all time. Sean Penn anyone? I still remember which one he was - the Falcon or the Snowman?

I think his vicious televised attack on Brooke Shields for having taken medication for post-partum depression, and his cooperation in the apparent kidnapping and Scientology brainwashing of naive Katie Holmes, top the list of reasons why people find him "irritating".
IMHO Eyes Wide Shut ruined Cruise's career for good. It depicted him as a bore and worst of all showed how short he is. People don't forget those images.
Yeah, BS is definitely #1. With Eartha Kitt a close #2 (believe she is dead, but criteria is "of all time").

OOps--almost forgot about Sean Penn.
Cruise, Gibson, and Travolta. All overrated, all poor "actors", C and T morons. Though, Gibson is trying to make more use of his redeeming qualities now, which is nice to see.
My vote goes to Barbra Streisand.
