*Congressman Jack Murtha turned the debate over Iraq on its head last month when this decorated Vietnam Vet and one of the most respected pro-military members of Congress issued his call for a redeployment of troops from Iraq. Come hear his reasons for that groundbreaking decision and participate in an open town hall meeting on January 5th in Arlington.
NRECA Location: Across the street from the Ballston Metro Station and Ballston Mall; Glebe Rd. Exit off Rte. 66.

June 1984 - Moran pleads guilty to conflict-of-interest charge, forced to resign from Alexandria City Council.
July 1990 - News reports uncover large campaign donations to then-Mayor Moran by Alexandria developers with interests pending before city. Campaign forced to return contributions.
Sept. 1990 - During campaign debate, Moran threatens to punch then-Cong. Stan Parris.
Nov. 1995 - Moran involved in shoving match with other Congressmen on House floor.
Jan. 1998 - Moran obtains prefererred-rate mortgage from large credit-card company.
Feb. 1998 - Moran sponsors bankruptcy bill to benefit that credit-card company.
June 1999 - Moran obtains low-interest personal loan from drug-company lobbyist, then sponsors special bill to benefit that company.
June 1999 - Police called to Moran home in Alexandria for domestic disturbance. Moran's wife files for divorce the next day.
Sept. 1999 - Moran rents house in Arlington from lobbyist whose PAC contributes to Moran's campaign. Moran steers federal funds to industries represented by the lobbyist.
Jan. 2000 - Moran and other "new Democrats" pressure Securites & Exchange Commission to withdraw proposed accounting reforms.
Apr. 2000 - Moran claims 8-year-old child in Alexandria tried to "carjack" his vehicle.
Apr. 2000 - Moran found to be using campaign funds to pay for his personal car.
July 2000 - Moran insults Catholic Church in remarks on House floor.
July 2000 - Moran rebuked by House leader for trying to doctor Congressional Record.
Oct. 2000 - News reports reveal that Moran received low-interest loan from drug lobbyist (from June 1999).
Nov. 2000 - Following public disclosure, Moran agrees to repay drug loan at market rate.
Jan. 2001 - Moran obtains large personal loan from AOL executive, uses money to gamble in stock market.
Jan. 2002 - News reports reveal that Moran received campaign contributions from terrorist sympathizers.
Mar. 2002 - Moran refuses to return campaign contribution from persons linked to terrorists (but finally does so in October).
June 2002 - News reports reveal Moran's personal loan from AOL (from Jan. 2001).
July 2002 - News reports disclose Moran's preferential mortgage treatment from credit-card company (from Jan. 1998).
Sept. 2002 - Moran refuses to return campaign contributions from WorldCom PAC to employee fund, despite widespread layoffs at the communications firm.
Oct. 2002 - After months of stonewalling, Moran returns campaign contributions to those with terrorist links.
