If she worked in a Catholic school there would be generations of messed up children in dire need of therapy today.Did your grandma have any sisters? I think I was taught by a whole bunch of them... : )

That black and white photo of the President and First Lady on the train - during the first campaign - is my very favorite of all their pictures.
There is something so romantic, shining with their love for each other, that you know they are the real thing!
Thanks for posting it, ilovew.

Then you will like this thread. No partisan politics (usually, anyway it's what we strive for) just enjoying photos of our president, VP, their families and members of this administration in general.
Welcome!

Er...um......I was taught by the Sisters of St. Joseph for twelve years and I can honestly say that NOT ONE of them was twisted. I wish I had been smart enough back then to have thanked them for all the wonderful lessons about life we learned. I appreciate them more every year I live, and I've lived plenty.

It's one of my favorite pictures too. They're so sweet. I just love seeing them together.

She had one (much older) brother.
Her husband left her to go to WWII when my dad was about 4 and didn't come back. It is assumes that he left due to her on-a-broomstick demeanor...my dad found him in the mid-70s in Louisiana and I never met him...
Being the devout Catholic that my grandmother was, she neither got a divorce nor had a male companion from the early 40s until her death in 1991. That adds up to a good 50 years of pent up frustration...
As far as I know, nobody on her side of the family ever became a nun or priest.
It is probably just as well that my dad was an only child. Less grandchildren to be messed up.
To: snugs
haha you know me well! I love any picture of them kissing, or of them together.

Christmas, First Family: the Fox News ticker said that, reportedly, the president gave his wife jewelry and a DVD player for their Crawford ranch; and she gave him clothes, a book, and biking gear.

Yep, Karl and I were the 25th, and Karen is the 27th. I love the way "W" chooses Christmastime babies to surround him! Good judgment there!
