If she worked in a Catholic school there would be generations of messed up children in dire need of therapy today.

Did your grandma have any sisters? I think I was taught by a whole bunch of them... : )

She had one (much older) brother.

Her husband left her to go to WWII when my dad was about 4 and didn't come back. It is assumes that he left due to her on-a-broomstick demeanor...my dad found him in the mid-70s in Louisiana and I never met him...

Being the devout Catholic that my grandmother was, she neither got a divorce nor had a male companion from the early 40s until her death in 1991. That adds up to a good 50 years of pent up frustration...

As far as I know, nobody on her side of the family ever became a nun or priest.

It is probably just as well that my dad was an only child. Less grandchildren to be messed up.
