WASHINGTON -- Federal District Judge James Robertson, who resigned from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance (FISA) court in protest over secret wiretaps ordered by President Bush, is regarded in Washington legal circles as one of President Bill Clinton's most liberal and partisan judicial appointments.
Robertson, 67, has ruled consistently against the Bush administration's handling of enemy combatants. On July 15 this year, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia reversed his 2004 ruling that a military commission could not try alleged terrorist Salim Ahmed Hamdan.
In private Washington practice before going on the court, Robertson was an aggressive civil rights advocate. He spent 1969-1972 with the Lawyer's Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, serving for a time as the organization's chief counsel in Jackson, Miss. In 1994, Clinton named him to the federal bench, where he remains despite his resignation from the FISA court.

So a US judge has been aiding the enemy?
I think he was suspended for leaking classified info...I also think he'll forced to step down from this position. Can't imagine why the last CJ ever appointed this man to the FISA court.
These liberals are completely clueless and they are liars.
The NSA spying is being pushed by the media as a "BUSH LIED AND IS SPYING ON YOU" story, when it is really a "BUSH IS DOING WHAT I EXPECTED HIM TO DO AFTER 9-11" story.
This conincides with another FAKE story.
The "IRAQIS REJECT RIGGED ELECTION RESULTS, VOW TO FIGHT NEW PARLIAMENT, BLAME IRAN, THIS ELECTION IS A FAILURE" story" is really a "SUNNI/SECULAR SHITE-MINORITY KNOWING THEY WOULD LOSE THE ELECTION, PLAN TO BE BOMBASTIC IN ORDER TO GAIN A STRONGERFOOTING IN A NEW GOVERMENT THAT THEY COULD NOT ACHIEVE AT THE BALLOT BOX" story.
Media bias at work.
Glad he left.
So when will he be arrested?
So a US judge has been aiding the enemy?

If you or I would have leaked classified info, we would never be seen again -- I smell the Washington "political class" in action again.
I think Newsweak, The NY Slimes, or Al Qaeda may hire him.
I looked at an analysis last night of the Iraqi election and voter fraud is just not there to the degree they're saying.
Then I read another story of our dead soldiers' bodies being shipped by freight. This kinda of garbage is just that garbage. There's a procedure that's not changed in decades in the way our soldiers' bodies are shipped with great honor.
The world has gone absolutely NUTS.
Luk 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
My gut tells me this is the leaker. I hope they can prove it.
Could this liberal POS be one of the leaks?!
If I were to make a guess...I'd say we'll never know that info. National Security will trump that and it'll all be done in secret and with a secret court.
My reply questioning the possibility of this POS being the leaker was posted a few seconds after yours.
His sudden resignation might be a preemptive move if it is shown that he was a probable leaker.

That is 0.9% of the election results.
The protest is a well coordinated and easily predicted power play by the minority party in Iraq.
The emphasis by the minority on Iran is to get the American Press to fall for the wild claim in order to print it and result in usefull idiots calling the election a failure in order force a compromise for greater power in the government.
Only a partisan hack idiot who cares nothing for truth would call this election a failure.
An educated, calm person with a vested interest in reality and a hope for American success would see this for what it is.
Politics in Iraq.
Nothing more. Nothing less.
A Success.
Link didn't work, but I get your point.
Right on as usual.
Might this liberal POS of a judge be the leaker?
The only possibility I can think of is a variation on "better to have him inside the tent pissing out than outside the tent pissing in." At the least, while he was on the FISA court, he was legally constrained from commenting on programs like this (even if he did end up leaking it... illegally).
At best his being on the court involves agreeing to random or even close surveillance to make sure that he is not a security risk. Imagine if the AG has him on tape discussing with, say, Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid, how they're going to orchestrate the leak to the Times.
Even better if the Times has a rep on the call, which would make them part of a conspiracy to commit a felony (if not treason), which is NOT covered by the 1st amendment or the 1970s Pentagon Papers precedents.
Wouldn't that make a Christmas present?
I think something is brewing big-time. Soon to come out...you bet maybe a little after Christmas, ringing in the New Year. ;o)
Nitwit Alan Colmes was arguing the other night along side idiot Congressman Nadler with guest host Rich Lowry and Congressman David Drier.
Colmes kept referring to this guy being appointed by Chief Justice John Roberts when it was actually Rehnquist who appointed him. Also, Roberts, rejected several rulings by this judge regarding conferring rights on the enemy while Roberts sat on the U.S Court of Appeals of the D.C. Circuit.
