The following memories are in various formats. The ones that end in .html take you to a built-in player. If you have an audio recorder program, you can record them.
I downloaded and use a free audio recorder program (records any audio on the internet or your computer to 128kbps mp3:
click on the below link, then click on the link that says free, and then click on download
http://share2net.com/?id=11163894
my tips, so far, from using this free audio recorder program:
Go to programs in your C drive and open the file called "MagicSofts", within that file there's a file called "SC" which is where the completed mp3 lands. Right-click on the SC file and select make a shortcut so that you can have it on your desktop. Having it on your desktop makes it much easier to go in and find the completed mp3 if you want to rename it or move it to another folder.
The button with the circle on it is the one to click to begin recording and be sure to click on the button with the square on it to stop recording when the audio is done or you'll have some blank space at the end of the mp3. The arrow between the question mark and x is the one to click on to minimize the program so that it will fall into your tool bar; to open it back up, just click on the symbol in your tool bar. If the audio you want to record takes some time to load (like some real audio media), it's best to let it load fully in your player....then hit the stop button and hit the play button right after you click the record button. When recording from internet sites that have built-in players, click on the player's stop button so that you can start the recorder first, then click on play. Since the recorder doesn't take up much screen space, you can usually adjust your screen so that you can click on the record button and quickly click on the website's play button afterwards.
If you click on the button in the lower right-hand corner of the program, a "save as" box will pop up and you can type the name of the song and artist in the "object name" space (be sure the name you type ends with .mp3), or you can just rename the mp3 after the recording completes. If you don't type in a name for the mp3 before recording, the completed mp3 will have show up as a number which you can choose to rename afterwards.

I work down in the 'ol sweat shop, sweet thing, sweet thing
I work down in the 'ol sweat shop
Work like a mule and never stop
Sweet thing, yes baby mine
When you gonna join the NRA, sweet thing, sweet thing
When you gonna join the NRA
I never have heard the big boss say
Sweet thing, yes baby mine
I've got the blues, I've got them NRA blues
Lord I got them NRA blues
When payday come gonna get my check, sweet thing, sweet thing
When payday come gonna get my check
All I get's just a little wee speck
Sweet thing, yes baby mine
When you're working for the NRA, sweet thing, sweet thing
When you're working for the NRA
You'll get short hours and get same pay
Sweet thing, yes baby mine
I've got the blues, I've got them NRA blues
Lord I got them NRA blues
The rich men's all on easy street, sweet thing, sweet thing
The rich men's all on easy street
And the poor man can't get enough to eat
Sweet thing, yes baby mine
When you all join the NRA, sweet thing, sweet thing
When you all join the NRA
We'll all feel happy and all feel gay
Sweet thing, yes baby mine
I've got the blues, I've got them NRA blues
Lord I got them NRA blues

by Artie Shaw and His New Music, 12/30/37
Just whistle while you work (whistle)
Put on that grin and start right in
to whistle loud and long
Just hum a merry tune (hum)
Just do your best and take a rest
and sing your self a song
When there's too much to do
Don't let it bother you, forget your troubles,
Try to be just like a cheerful chick-a-dee
And whistle while you work (whistle)
Come on get smart, tune up and start
to whistle while you work
He's In The Ring (Doin' The Same Old Thing) - Memphis Minnie (8-23-1935)
http://www.authentichistory.com/audio/1930s/music/1935-Hes_In_The_Ring_Doing_The_Same_Old_Thing.html Background:
On June 22, 1935, one-time Ford motor plant employee Joe Louis laid out Italy's Primo Carnera in the sixth round before a crowd of 60,000 in New York's Yankee Stadium. "Whether it was the South Side of Chicago, St. Antoine Street of Detroit, or the Hill District of Pittsburgh, Negro communities throughout the nation went crazy with joy,"reported the New York Amsterdam Star-News. A folk hero had been born.
One of the great women of the blues, Memphis Minnie reflected that joy in a recording session two months after the Louis-Carnera bout. (She also waxed a "Joe Louis Strut.")

Louis Jordan and his Timpany Five, 1943
Baby baby baby, what's wrong with Uncle Sam?
He's cut down on my sugar, now he's messin' with my ham
I got the ration blues, blue as I can be
Oh me, I've got those ration blues
I got to live on fourty ounces, of any kind of meat
Those fourty little ounces gotta last me all the week
I got to cut down on my jelly
It takes sugar to make it sweet
I'm gonna steal all your jelly baby
And rob you of your meat
I got the ration blues, blue as I can be
Oh me, I've got those ration blues
I like to wake up in the morning with my jelly by my side
Since rationing started baby, you just take your stuff and hide
They reduced my meat and sugar
And rubber's disappearing fast
You can't ride no more with poppa
'Cause Uncle Sam wants my gas
I got the ration blues, blue as I can be
Oh me, I've got those ration blues
