The revelation that Fox News aired a one-sided global warming program featuring Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has alienated the channel's conservative base.
In response to our column on the controversy, we received a number of emails, some of them threatening to leave the channel in disgust.
We speculated in our column on the matter that Fox was trying to curry favor with Kennedy, who may be running for high office in New York, home of Fox News parent News Corporation.
If Kennedy, for instance, becomes New York state Attorney General, he could be in a position to help or hurt the company.
"If Fox is truly afraid of Kennedy," said one person, "they should move their headquarters out of New York. This show was shameful.
I have hardly watched Fox since this show. If conservatives get turned off on Fox News, they are in trouble."
All we are asking for is some fairness and balance.

I haven't - I love watching Fox and comparing what and how they report to CNN, MSNBC, etc. I trust Fox way more.

We shouldnt want a 'conservative' media. We should want a media that is fair and doesnt take sides.
I'm sorry, call me naive, but that's pretty freakin' scarey when you have to propagandize your news in fear of the power of politicians.

IMHO, I think people lose sight of the fact that the broadcast and business strategy of Fox is to present BOTH SIDES --- "fair and balanced" to use their words.
It is easy to confuse actually seeing the CONSERVATIVE side of ANTYHING on the media now with being a "purely conservative" operation. Fox is not. It is both -- and refreshingly so in many cases, because they also lay it on the weak and spineless crap that the Repubs do, as well -- which IS GOOD in my book. ANY BS out of Washington needs to be exposed and aired, regardless of who does it -- and I believe that this the Fox mandate. Fox remains a breath of fresh air because they pull no punches either way -- and that is how I remember some of media from my childhood days --- but of course, from the rest of the MSM, those respectable days are LONG GONE!!! (a no-brainer).

will appear. I always feel when Fox
does one of those heavy Liberal shows,
it's to keep their "Fair and Balanced"
rep going. Like them or not, the other
stations have to admit Fox does do both
sides of an issue. That said, there are
plenty of times I can barely tolerate
some of the idiots they put before the
monitor as guests.
Geraldo Rivera isn't conservative. Neither is Alan Colmes. Or Greta. O'Reilly is as populist as they come; he certainly isn't conservative. Greg Jarrett? No way.
The reason people call Fox News "conservative" is because for DECADES there was not a strong voice in the mainstream media that allowed an alternative point of view!
Bill Buckley was always around, but not as a regular in the MSM...he had "Firing Line" on PBS once a week and he'd occasionally appear on "Nightline" or something.
No, FOX isn't conservative. It is balanced. And that is why it is winning the ratings game.
I will continue to watch Fox...I will tune in to the other cable news or network news shows, but the leftist imprint upon them is so apparent, I cannot watch regularly. Not so on FNC. FNC gives liberals a voice--fair enough--but conservatives are also heard; you don't get much of that in the MSM.

Despite the aforementioned emails that supposedly flooded into Fox, I suspect we'll see its ratings continue to grow -- and it won't be liberals watching.
If you watch nothing on Fox but Brit Hume and Fox News Sunday you'll be getting a solid right-of-center presentation of the news. If you want to worry about the clowns on the Saturday morning show, you'd do better to just leave the TV off.
I think that's a little unfair. A program with a point of view doesn't always need an immediate counter point. I have no problem with a one sided program as long as overall we get balance.
I thought this was news about the Desert Fox...go figure.
I don't know why they're afraid of Kennedy. I haven't heard of him seeking high office in NYC.
Hume, Gibson, Cavuto are acceptable, but O'reily and the short skirts are ridiculous! Get rid of those morning idiots for god's sake!
