"I think she'll have fight on her hands for re-election :)"

Note: I left your little smily face.

Do you have the inside track on the name of a candidate?

Sad news.

If there was anyone in NYS who could have defeated the Hilde Beast would have been Jeanine. She would have made mince meat out of the Wicked Witch of the West in the debates.

I've met Jeanine and spoken to her on many occasions and she's a smart, intelligent and though lady.

I hate to see Madame Hillary heading for the White House. The fiend must be stopped at all costs!

"though I was looking forward to her verbal smackdown of the Hildabeast :-("

I coudn't wait to watch the spectacle Jeanine would have made of the Hildabeast.

Let's face it, the NY GOP is dead as a doornail.

True enough. They might be slightly less dead than the NJ GOP but more dead than the CA GOP which, as you know is saying *a lot* about how far gone the NY GOP is.

Jeanine has charisma, but is liberal - especially on the social issues.

Have you read Charles Millard's recent op-eds in the New York Post?

A Primary Fight NY's GOP Needs

That should be the attitude of Republicans going into next year.

NY GOP "dead," CA GOP "dead," but the "deadest" may still be IL.

I'd like to see Rudy get the Republican nomination and win the election. He would get enough cross-over votes and provide enough coat-tailsthat it could finally marginalize the Democrats enough to turn them into a regional party with no national strength.

And hopefully that could lead to a new national party to replace the Democrats. After all, it's been 150 years +- since a new national party came along. It's time for a change.

Besides, I think Rudy is a leader and that would make him a good President. Win-win.

"I don't think Giuliani would dare run for senator, for he has little faith that he could defeat HRC. He must think that his chances are greater for the presidency. Maybe he just doesn't want to associate with the likes of the current members of the Senate, and that is understandable."

I don't think he is afraid of HRC but I do agree that he probably doesn't like the idea of being in the Senate. He likes to be the number one man, not one of 100. I also agree his chances of being elected president, if he decides to run, is greater if he runs as "America's Mayor" and not as Senator Giuliani. The taint of Washington would be on him as a sitting Senator.

No I haven't, but it sounds like he's on my side. :)

Don't quote me, but it seems I remember the NYS GOP CLAIMING that a primary would be too costly.

However, when I was a committee person for the very poor NYS Right-to-Life Party, they had primaries.

Possible, but I don't think she plays well long term... something I'm counting on down the line ('08).

The Republican Party leadership in this state is also responsible for the implosion of the RTL Party, for what it's worth.

Rudi Guiliani is a liberal Republican, aka. RINO. His politics are in the grand tradition of Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Lincoln Chaffey, Arlen Spector and that famous leftcoast Governor, Ahnold Schwarzy.

Free Republic exists to advance the conservative agenda, not the liberal agenda.

Hitlery would have NEVER agreed to a one-on-one debate with her. That POS gets a pass on anything that might be 'difficult'.

"The Clinton goonsquad finally got to her."

That's probably true in more ways then one. Now the problem is where to find a viable, conservative, GOP candidate who can stand up to Clinton Inc's harassment, and is liked & trusted by the voters enough to beat the battle ax on election day.
