In the Presidents address to the nation Sunday the 18th, 2005, he made this statement, It is true that Saddam Hussein had a history of pursuing and using weapons of mass destruction. It is true that he systematically concealed those programs, and blocked the work of U.N. weapons inspectors. It is true that many nations believed that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction. But much of the intelligence turned out to be wrong.
This is the confession many Americans have been demanding for years now and for what-ever reason, the President decided to make this confession before the world community in this address. But is this a true and accurate assessment of the situation as we now know it, based on the facts?

I sure hope you set them straight. I have always loved being an American, just as I loved my Italian ancestry. It took me until high school to learn that there were many who saw both as negatives. :)
Wish I was as smart as you think I am....LOL
What is sad is that unless things change in a major way, by the time our children are old enough to join the military they wont know what they're fighting for.
A few?? I'm in Blue Jersey :P
My school does have ROTC and says the Pledge and prayers though.
You should have heard what came out of their mouths after the school did mock elections though. All my children, I'm proud to say, did vote for Bush. But, Kerry won in the school elections.
I'm a proud decendent of an Italian slave family. Sharecroppers from Calitri. My children know that is was America that freed us :)
The truth will be out in mass by then.
It is, DurtySanches.
Always a learning experience here. Hang in there FRiend.
What you survive, makes you stronger.
Amen!
lol I'm in Blue Pennsylvania (Thanks to ballot box stuffing in Philly!!!)
I wouldn't blame him if he didn't.
The Democrats knowingly helped by stalling the start of the war.
Once Saddam is dead, the Democrats and their media will do a 180 and call the war a failure because we failed to secure Saddam's WMDs. They will pretend he's Mr.Innocent while he's still alive so that he doesn't get mad and tell the world about their involvement in his crimes.
Will do...no worries! Just surprised how many jumped without reading... I know the lefties live on headlines alone. Just didn;t think freepers did and I guess they don't, I just should have posted a better excerpt from the column...
Learned my lesson!
I've been participating on political discussion BBS's since around the early 90's, before the "Internet" connected us all, as it were. Somehow that long and winding road led me to FR, and from lurking here at first (for a few months) I kinda knew it would be a tough contentious crowd, that I'd have to really be on top of my posts, and that I'd be called on any BS, however minor they may be. I stuck it out too, making a mistake here, a mistake there ... and got completely roasted for some of 'em !! /chuckle
But once ya get the gist of it, FReeper's for the most part are a good bunch of people ... True Americans all of us :)
Did you guys actually read this article?
The article states that Bush's assertion that intelligence was wrong is not correct. It then cites several examples of WMDs that were found and states that most of it was likely moved to Lebanon and Syria.
This isn't a "troll article"
That is how we remain Blue Jersey too.
Let's all thank Congress for now protecting our constitutional voting rights.
Ask and you shall receive!
