In taking the offensive to buck up support for the U.S. effort in Iraq, President Bush has revived his sagging political fortunes.
He kept up the public-relations campaign Monday with a news conference that followed Sunday night's address to the nation.

MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
They just can't keep our guy down, huh? I think it's all those prayers.
A large portion of his disapproval has been from conservatives sick of the New Tone and witing for him to fight back.
Once the middle-ground Americans get a grasp of the lengths he has gone to protect us, e.g.: the NSA intercepts, his numbers will skyrocket.
Wait till he nails Osama.
Amazing isn't it? This president takes his gig seriously.
Someone commented the other day about the whole "new tone" thing...it led to my tagline. And I hope he's got more coming. It's been said that "nature abhors a vacuum", and the Left has filled that space for far too long. Now our man W is fighting back, and more importantly, going on the offense, and the RATs are scurrying like...well, rats.
And speaking of taglines, I like yours.
Some day, GWB won`t be President.
We will look back and wish.
He is a great man, a terrific President, and some one that has always kept his eye on the ball.
Thank you. I heard it a while back and am keeping it for longer than any other tagline.
Waaaaa........
Last time I checked his official approval rating was 51.3% in the national election. That is the only offical approval rating that counts.
Bill Clinton was elected with 48% turnout and received 22%? of the vote. So he received less than 1/4 of the registered voters and yet he was an MSM hero.
Go figure!
Look, you might get all warm and fuzzy over a few extra public relations points. But, in the intermediate term and long term what are they really worth in concrete terms.
BTW, how far are you from our so-called border? Have you driven any exciting and challenging highways with our illegal friends?
"November '06 will be the real deal. As of now it is nonsense"
First, welcome to FR! Second, Bush going on the offensive and slamming those who are aiding and abetting the enemy and thus hurting our efforts in Iraq is not nonesense. In fact, it is very good sense and he should have done it a long time ago. He has a lot of catching up to do.
06 will definitely be what really matters, at least in terms of future political control. Likely the dems are in for a big surprise again...but that is what happens when you have your head in the sand all the time and only bring it out to try and destroy this country.
ANSWER: The President should stay on offense
