Boxer Impeachment Letter
Boxer senator online ^ | 12/19/2005 | Barbara Boxer

Posted on 12/19/2005 6:48:51 PM PST by stocksthatgoup

Boxer’s letter is as follows:

On December 16, along with the rest of America, I learned that President Bush authorized the National Security Agency to spy on Americans without getting a warrant from a judge. President Bush underscored his support for this action in his press conference today.

On Sunday, December 18, former White House Counsel John Dean and I participated in a public discussion that covered many issues, including this surveillance. Mr. Dean, who was President Nixon’s counsel at the time of Watergate, said that President Bush is “the first President to admit to an impeachable offense.” Today, Mr. Dean confirmed his statement.

This startling assertion by Mr. Dean is especially poignant because he experienced first hand the executive abuse of power and a presidential scandal arising from the surveillance of American citizens.

Given your constitutional expertise, particularly in the area of presidential impeachment, I am writing to ask for your comments and thoughts on Mr. Dean’s statement.

Unchecked surveillance of American citizens is troubling to both me and many of my constituents. I would appreciate your thoughts on this matter as soon as possible.

Sincerely,
Barbara Boxer
United States Senator

It 'spells' a four-letter word, which actually originated from the word CONEY.
co·ney1 also co·ny   Audio pronunciation of "coney" ( P )  Pronunciation Key  (kn, kn)
n. pl. co·neys, also co·nies
  1. A rabbit, especially the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus).
  2. The fur of a rabbit.
  3. See pika.
  4. See hyrax.
    1. A grouper (Epinephelus fulvus) of the tropical Atlantic, having dark brown or sharply bicolored skin and a few blue and black spots.
    2. Chiefly Florida Keys & West Indies. Either of two related fish, the red hind or the graysby.
  5. Archaic. A dupe; a simpleton.

[Middle English coni, from Old French conis, pl. of conil, from Latin cunculus, possibly from cunnus, cunus, female pudenda.]

Let them run for a few days. Then they will start to be asked "exactly which American citizens are we talking about her?"
But its all too much for me - I'm still bogged down in the brutal Afghan winter and trying to get over the rape of the Baghdad Museum.

Yea I looked for it but the MSN just gave some quotes that sounded kind of lame to me. The Administration should of had more defense on the Sunday shows. It is going to be a long week in the WHouse. Why didn't they just go to the judge after the fact? Blows my mind.

"Amok" is pretty strong language, but it is a concern. The NSA has capabilities that the average joe can't even begin to understand. I have done work for them and the amount of electronic data that the system gathers on any given day is terabytes. A lot of it never even gets listened to unless it has keywords that the computers flag. Who gets it and what do they do with it is another story all on it's own. Remember Hillary and the FBI files?

I don't know if Clinton did the same thing, what Clinton did was set up the system which allowed the NSA to spy. It includes hooks into the hardware of telephone central offices, Internet ISPs and satellite stations worldwide for intercepts. This was written about in the technical press as far back as 1999. Some background information from 2000 is here.

The FBI has a similar system called Carnivore.

Congress has been funding both systems, so the feigned surprise is interesting.

What is new, and damaging, is the disclosure that these systems are being used to track terrorists. For disclosing this, people need to go to jail. Makes the Plame affair look ridiculous by comparison.

LOL! And just what is a red hind anyway?! A spanked fish? That's it. I'm calling Barbara Boxer a spanked fish from now on.

As for the etymology of the word coney, the Middle English / French / Latin is the most accurate for its slang usage today. :o)

MAJOR BARF ALERT!!! Great, the woman's righting a book. I wonder if her book signings are going to be as successful as Cindy Sheehani's. Speaking of which, is she finally getting the point.

I am calling on this Busch administration and any patriotic American administration, to investigate and DO WHATEVER IT TAKES to eliminate the Bolshevik threat to our country that is best embodied by Boxer, Clinton, Schumer, Feinstein and almost all the Demsheviks.

I have an idea...why don't we just take all of the nuclear missles in the U.S. arsenal, aim them at all of our major cities and just nuke ourselves right off the planet?

Then everyone would be appeased and these lefties would finally have peace in their hearts. Oh but wait, they'll be dead too. Maybe they forgot about that.
