Appears to be Chalks airline, they fly Grumann flying boats if I recall correctly.

It's interesting, if it was a float plane, that it would not have been able to land safely on the water if it was something like engine trouble. I'd have to think it was something else... unless he hit those rocks or some other obstacle on the water.
Heh.. comment from our charter pilot when my husband and I chartered a float plane after our wedding. During his required FAA safety talk, he said "In the event of an other-than-water landing"...
A witness is reporting something about a fire on one wing.
