WASHINGTON, Dec. 18 /U.S. Newswire/ -- House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement tonight in response to President Bush's speech on Iraq:
"Tonight the President acknowledged more of the mistakes he has made in Iraq, but he still does not get it. Iraq did not present an imminent threat to the security of the United States before he began his war of choice. The President's speech tonight was further evidence that after almost three years, he still does not understand that crucial fact.
"President Bush persists in pursuing a flawed policy that has not made the American people safer nor made the Middle East more secure. It is time for a new direction in Iraq -- not more of the same."
END
The President understood it and said so specifically at the time. More lies from Pelosi.
"Some have said we must not act until the threat is imminent. Since when have terrorists and tyrants announced their intentions, politely putting us on notice before they strike? If this threat is permitted to fully and suddenly emerge, all actions, all words, and all recriminations would come too late." - President Bush
Pelosi is lying.
Just for kicks, there was someone who has analyzed intelligence far longer than the President has who made the following statement:
There has also been some debate over how "imminent" a threat Iraq poses. I do believe that Iraq poses an imminent threat, but I also believe that after September 11, the question is increasingly outdated. It is in the nature of these weapons, and the way they are targeted against civilian populations, that documented capability and demonstrated intent may be the only warning we get. To insist on further evidence could put some of our fellow Americans at risk. Can we afford to take that chance? We cannot!
Who said it? Why none other than Democrat Senator Jay Rockefeller, a prominent member of the Senate Intelligence Committee!
Nancy Pelosi still doesn't get it.
"Iraq did not present an imminent threat to the security of the United States before he began his war of choice."
All the power as to whether there would be a war was in Saddam's hands. He chose defiance. He chose war. He chose to believe that George Bush was just another American president that didn't mean what he said. BAD choice!
They view everyone that way. Thats why they're known as "Elitist".
Besides, they're world view of the electorate is based on their own past experience and knowledge of their base constituents, who are in fact, certifiable "mindless idiots, with no viable memory".
When it comes to "Liberal Elitist",they are anything but stupid.
But to the trained and observant eye, they do indeed resemble stupid.
But, if you ask Nancy if she would've waited until Iraq DID pose itself as a threat before going to war if she was President-ette, she would say "No".
RATS are so full of carp.
Pelosi: "Iraq did not present an imminent threat to the security of the United States before he began his war of choice."
He never said it did, you stupid bitch. In fact, Bush said just the opposite, that Iraq is a gathering threat and that we cannot wait until it is an imminent threat. But you already knew that, you stupid bitch.
Somebody pointed out on another thread that Pelosi is too ignorant to know the difference between strategy and tactics. She betrays that ignorance with her statements.
And what new direction would you reccommend Ms Pelosi? There is east, west, north and south; the wrong way, the right way; the brave way, the cowards way; the way to victory, the way to defeat and you dems pukish way, the way of retreat.
Bush is right you liberals are wrong-you know it and the bastards and bastardettes of the America despising left, are trying their damndest to rescue defeat from the jaws of victory.
Ms. Pelosi,
Shouldn't you be at a thousand dollar a plate fundraiser complaining about how the rich have everything handed to them?
b*tch
New.
The left has no clue, so; how could they even have a plan! It is hate America, the old VVAW and anti war spew, and; let's hate Bush, he caused our bad hair day.
Get's pretty old.
