I think he was pissed at the NSA weenies and the House and Senate Intel Committee members, all of whom broke secrecy oaths of various kinds.

Ironically, 50 USC 1802 covers the surveillance activity. It isn't illegal at all.

GWB has not addressed us from the Oval since we invaded Iraq and what went through my head was either we have Osama OR we are invading Iran.

I'm betting it is to hammer home the fact that Iraq had an election and that America is no longer threatened by Iraq. Either Iran or Osama would not have been scheduled two days ahead.

I am beginning to get very curious about the decision-making at the WH on Friday.

There have been many landmarks along this road. The biggie was W flying onto that carrier. Since then, iirc, all short statements or speeches out in country. An Oval office speech make you go Hmmmmm

and hope for another line drawn; after the Dems crossed the one he drew yesterday.

I'd love to hear that we caught Osama, and that he is currently strapped to the front of a bunker-buster about to land in Iran, but I think that this talk just sets up the speech as "a bust" when the speech ends up being about the fact that the Iranians have elected a government.

As far as I am concerned that is newsworthy enough for tonight. After all, the Demoncrats said IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN.
