I bet it's someone in the CIA. But we should put the reporter in front of a grand jury and find out.
A Senator is difficult to get, but not impossible, they are subject to the law, although there are serious Constitutional limits on what/when they can be prosecuted. Staffers have zero legal protection that any other citizen does not also have. Them we can get.
As if they weren't now. They are Martyrs to the Cause.
THE ENEMY WITHIN.
Indeed!!
As if they weren't now. They are Martyrs to the Cause.
Very true, El Gato. And Salem, do some research. At the time they were caught and tried the media and hard Left portrayed them as heroes, guiltless and as Saints. They kept the propaganda up relentlessly for several decades until the Rosenbergs were absolutely proven guilty by release of the Venona code transcripts. The media didn't publicize their guilt, of course, but now claim the death penalty was too harsh for the crime. As if any punishment is too harsh for treason that might have resulted in the nuclear annihilation of millions of innocent Americans!
We can't be hypocrites here. Bill Gertz has written more than one book with classified info on China and other issues. He did the same research this author did.
Don't get so caught up in support for Bush that it clouds your judgment. That's exactly what Clinton supporters did and what Clinton depended upon.
If you are informed on the facts and the severity of the violation in terms of the risk it represents to our national security, and the evil it exposes in the Americans who have chosen to commit this crime against their country .. and still maintain this view, all I can say is thank God I don't have your brain. I pity you.

I don't need your pity and I will not support a violation of the law (if that has occured). My concern is not that GWB abused the power of his office but has set a precedent. Next time the Dems win the WH (and trust me they will steal it one day) and they use these sort of tactics will you support them as well? When they start watching whomever they want don't whine because you've already gave them carte blanche.
Just who is supporting a violation of the law and where are you getting that there was one?
I said if there was a violation. Further spying on people without a court order and convincing yourself that that is a good thing is the first step on a slippery slope.
Again I ask in all honesty will the same people who now are supporting this, support the Dems in the future. I higly doubt that the Dems will use this precedent for the well-being of the average american.
SCUMBAG anti-American traitor.
