Whats the deal with xbox 360s?
Posted on 12/17/2005 4:19:50 PM PST by SDGOP
I wasn't one of the people who stood in line for hours and hours when the xbox 360 first came out, but i was wondering if anyone knew if microsoft was making another shipment for before christmas or is it just hopeless? I went to the local EB and they said microsoft won't have another shipment until after the holidays. That kind of seems like a dumb idea, why cut off the shipments during the holidays? Can anybody shed some light on this, thanks.

Oh, don't be testy. Everyone is wrong sometimes, just like you are now. Do you have any idea how many 360s have been sold? If only 500 or so units have had problems, that is FANTASTIC. If it was 10000, that would still be outstanding.
If I am blind, it is because I spend too much time playing on my 360!

With respect to all those bashing the 360, you gotta know there is some jealousy going on here. I don't blame them. We worked HARD to get these boxes, and for those of us with kids, they will know that we love them more than the families without 360s under the tree on Christmas.
ROTF!

I lost him last year with the release of Halo 2 (o:
He got an extra wireless controller, Call of Duty 2, and another game. Can't remember the name. I recommended Gotham but he has something else in mind. And I managed to return $300 worth of gifts I had bought for him, so the $600 we endedup paying didn't hurt quite so muhc!

Can you shed any light on why I should want one? So you can make your mindlessly repetitive violence appear in even higher definition.

Well, I've got multiple news articles and sources on my side....you've got "Mine works great".
I've got no dog in this fight. I don't have an XBOX 360, I don't want an XBOX 360, and I will probably never get an XBOX 360. I am perfectly entertained with a chess board or a deck of cards.
My response was to a guy who posted asking about shortages, and I thought I'd share what I had seen all over several websites about the bugs.
If I knew that I was going to have to jump through a dozen or so stores for the privilege of plunking down several hundred dollars to own one of these mind-numbers, I would darn sure want to know that my kid would get more than a half hour of enjoyment out of it on Christmas Day.

Christmas season, sales, and profits. First mover advantage in beating Playstation 3 to market. How is THAT so hard to believe?

With Call of Duty2, you might as well just have another kid, cause you wont be seeing your boy again. I have Call of Duty 2 for the PC, and it is the best shooter ever.

You have taken your articles and sources and failed to use common sense and perspective. If this is no big deal to you, then you should give it up.

Better my articles and research than your "mine's okay, so they're all okay!" nonsense. Talk about no perspective!
Okay, it's my last post on the topic. You win. When this blows up after Christmas, when all those kiddies finally unwrap the thousands that have been sold, then maybe you'll have a glimmer of light into your closed mind. Or better yet, maybe when your machine seizes up at a hypercritical gaming moment then you'll get the point.

You are just jealous. There are no hypercritical moments in gaming. Talk about perspective, my ass.
