Mass immigration & multiculturalism: What a riot, mate!

"When an Arab torches a school, it's rebellion. When a white guy does it, it's fascism," says French-Jewish philosopher, Alain Finkielkraut. His observation vis-a-vis the riots in France has been validated by the coverage of the "race riots" in Australia. These began in Cronulla, south of Sidney, and soon spread to other beach suburbs, where Anglo-Aussies descended on "people of Arabic and Mediterranean background" in a territorial display of fury.

Hardly a dog of a commentator missed the opportunity to lift his leg in protest against the "white teenagers" and the "racist white mobs." However, they quickly resumed racially neutral language – and the passive voice – when Arabs were implicated. Thus BBC News reported that "a man [Anglo] was stabbed in the back [by a Lebanese] in south Sydney."

Yes, the Anglos – also the blokes whose Anglo-Celtic forefathers established Australia's political order and "civic culture" – were not described as disenfranchised or alienated. Such existential exigencies are the exclusive preserve of the "Lebs" (Lebanese, in local parlance). Or of France's Noble Savages. In the latter's case, it took the "mullahs of the media" a good week before they deigned to mention the rioters' ethnic identity. And even then, reporting was saturated with Rousseauian reverence.

Nor were experts on hand in TV studios or over op-ed pages to "analyze" what might have "driven" young surfer Aussies to alight on the "Lebs" with such anger.

Buried in the clucking about "white racist gangs" were a few richly revealing words, a hint at the straw that broke the koala's back: Lebanese had brutally beat two Cronulla lifeguards. The Australian says lifesavers "epitomize Australia's white traditions and Anglo-Saxon roots." Other provocations: Lebanese were in the habit of loitering around bikini-clad white girls, calling them prostitutes and exhorting them to "cover up," as have they been implicated in a string of racially motivated, gang-rapes of young white girls. The presence among Anglo-Aussies of a camarilla of Sami Al-Arians has done nothing to ease coexistence. Ditto the memory of the 2002 Bali bombing, in which approximately 160 Australians were slaughtered.

For fingering the French rioters as "blacks or Arabs with a Muslim identity," latte sippers across the continent labeled Finkielkraut, Europe's leading conservative philosopher, the "new neo-reactionary." (Entre nous: I'd garner the same honorific for my roundup on France's rioters). He had pointed out – and proven – that the rioters were staging an anti-republican pogrom, rooted in a fundamental hatred of France and the French. Rioters had raged to the sounds of Monsieur R's rapper "lyrics" – "I piss on France," he rapped, and they did. But did the cognoscenti condemn this racial hatred? Not on your life.

Freedom of speech is heavily proscribed in Europe and Australia. Aussies and Europeans can end up jailed and jobless for mouthing about Muslims (but not the reverse). So Finkielkraut recanted (and Oriana Fallaci fled).

As in France, Australia's Muslims have inflicted on their hosts harm that exceeds by far the scratches and other scurrilities they suffered from the surfers. Soon after the riots erupted, a Uniting Church hall adjacent to a mosque was burned to the ground and four churches in Sydney's southwest were attacked. A Catholic archbishop has had to entreat Middle Easterners not to target Christmas celebrations, after these hoodlums threatened, spat on and shot at parents and kids who convened to sing carols at a primary school in western Sydney.

Decades of indoctrination by the "managerial professional elites" were supposed to emasculate the surfer dudes for good. They were expected to toke it up or turn the other cheek. Instead, they fought back against what they perceive as a threat to their land and life.

A threat that commenced approximately 40 years ago, when Australian central planners decided in favor of mass importation of immigrants from the Third World. Hitherto, a limited and selective immigration policy had guaranteed newcomers reinforced the ethnic and cultural composition of the founding folk. If this sounds familiar, it's because "Camelot knight-errant" Ted Kennedy engineered a similar coup in the United States.

The statist revolution was (and still is) directed from above by a treacherous political class which has shared the ideological cockpit with "intellectuals" (a misnomer, if ever there was one) who hate their country's history and inhabitants (aboriginals excluded). This hatred has fueled their quest to marginalize North-Western Europeans, whose "culture" has facilitated "the fundamental constitutional norms associated with the rule of law, representative government and individual rights," to quote Andrew Fraser (now banned in Oz).

An 18-year-old Anglo, wearing mirrored sunglasses and a baseball cap, arrived on the beachfront riding an undersized push-bike. As he sifted a fistful of sand through his fingers, he told "The Australian": "This is what we're fighting for. Like our fathers, our grandfathers, fought for these beaches and now it's our turn."

More bathos than pathos, perhaps. But not half bad, considering this parting shot comes from someone who was raised on a diet of state-sponsored multiculturalism and cultural relativism, and who has been taught to hate his heritage.

Ping! I wonder if our multiculturalist/anti-gun/anti-hunting Commonwealth members are still happy that their guns have been confiscated and that their leaders continue to blame racism for the inability of immigrants from "their former colonies" to assimilate?

Great article. I'm sure the Euro-pukes/multiculturalists will be along shortly to label this piece racist and scream about it in the U.K. Guardian and state-run fishwraps.

Well said! This is America's #1 problem, too: liberals and RINOs in high places who don't have a damn clue and the totally snowed constituents that continually vote for these clowns.

"This is what we're fighting for. Like our fathers, our grandfathers, fought for these beaches and now it's our turn."

At least the Japanese would have had to fight their way ashore. Australia's traitor elites have pulled every enemy Trojan Horse they could find inside of their cities, and the enemy is now fully entrenched in their midst.

THe traitors should be hung, once this is sorted out. If it ever is.

Austalia and New Zealand are still old world in their thinking. In these countries, people are judged not as individuals, but as groups. Beating up anyone based on looks and not what he or she did nor did not do is old world. Atleast in the US, the conservatives stress judging people as individuals. Granted I sympathize with the Australians, but their methods are a bit unjust. I am glad I live in the US, atleast we are trying to suppress the liberal practice of tribalism and classifying individuals.

Is the steady decline of the Anglo-Celtic cultural characteristics that built America positive? I think the lawless chaos seen during the Katrina disaster demonstrates otherwise. Do not think for a minute that we are immune to the problems seen in the Commonwealth and in Northern Europe.

Ilana has nailed it. Immigration threatens to destroy the West, be it the U.S., Europe, or Australasia. Not just ILlegal immigration, as this article and the events in France and Australia make clear. The type of LEGAL immigration a country permits builds it up or tears it down. When Australia decided to allow massive non-Western immigration, they set their course on the spot they have arrived at today, just as we did with Teddy Kennedy's 1965 immigration act. Most people today are talking about the illegal immigrant problem. That is only part of the problem.

Time to pack up the Muzzies in containers and drop them off on the shore of the nearest Isalamic country.

In the US if a black person attacks a white person, we do not go out and randomly pick a black person and beat the crap out of him. We want to find the assailant and prosecute the crap out of him. This may be the behavior of inner city minorities (which many conservatives and fair minded Americans condemn), but overall in the US we do not advocate nor practice the concept. As a conservative I want to judge the individual by his content, not his color, otherwise we are adding credence to the liberals assertions for affirmative action. Profiling is another issue. I support profiling because it is based on valid LE experience which produces valid arrests, and it is an effective tool against crime until PC forced it from use. Illegal immigration is a problem because it does not allow our country to screen entrants for criminal records, disease, terrorists and control the numbers entering which has an impact on the resources of the impacted communities and federal services. The Australian anger is justified, but the solution is not an American concept of individualism, but rather group punishment. It is one thing if the Australians surrounded and beat up the Muslim gangs after they abused the women or attacked the lifeguards, it is another to randomly attack a Middle Eastern looking person on the street in the name of patriotism. I hope you are not advocating the Rodney King approach to resolving wrongs, where blacks in LA randomly stopped cars drivened by innocent whites, drag the occupants out and kick the crap out of them, because white cops beat up one of their own and a white jury refused to convict the officers. If the Australians are angry, they need to look at themselves in the mirror, because they voted in a majority white government who are too timid to deal with violence perpetrated by Muslim gangs on PC grounds. They need to change the political parties in power, change the laws, reform immigration laws and deal harshly with the Muslim criminals. GROUP PUNISHMENT is not an American and Conservative concept. It is a concept practiced in the Old World, and it has no place in the New World. It is one of the characteristics that makes Americans unique from the majority European ancestors.

I don't think Anglo-Celtic cultural model is the key to US greatness. Alot of the resistance to the Irish, Eastern European and Southern European immigrants came from the Ango culture and the Irish initially practiced cultural tribalism which prevented them from rapidly assimilating into the American mainstream compared to other white immigrants. The key is the founding fathers notion that freedom and equality is a right given by God (Judo-Christian) constrained by liberty made our country universal and great. The American emphasis on the indvidual, rather than his class, creed, religion, and family determined his worth played an important role in openning opportunities that were not available in Europe or Asia. If we lose these two concepts, then the nature of our country will change.

I read two distinct and contradictory things in your comments: (1) harsh words against our Irish immigrants (2) a blind faith in "multiculturalism."

You can't have it both ways. Some cultures are better than others, and American "culture" is Anglo-Celtic without a doubt. That includes "Scotch-Irish" (Catholic and Presbyterian) immigrants from England's colonies in the British isles, and citizens of the empire itself who came here. Our language is English. Our religion, as much as the secularists are trying to stamp it out, is a mixture of those two cultural groups. Our work ethic, and our reliance and trust in the rule of law comes from those two cultural groups. In short, we ARE Anglo-Celtic.

If you truly believe in "multiculturalism," I simply cannot agree with you. The experiment in non Judeo-Christian immigration is demonstrating daily its failures. Furthermore, Hispanic immigration (as demonstrated by recent illiteracy numbers) is diluting our core English cultural commitment.

The world we're making for our children in the name of "multiculturalism" is failing faster every day. I'm tired of the tired old line that anything goes here because American values are so inherently contagious. Our Muslim and even our Asian and Hispanic immigrants are proving daily that they do not plan to assimilate into our cultural fabric. They want to redefine it, and they're getting plenty of support in our educational systems for doing so.

The "multiculturalist" experiment is destroying America. This has nothing to do with race. Anyone is free to adopt the predominately Anglo-Celtic values we share. Anyone is free to reject them. But as we smudge our values with various entrants who refuse to assimilate, we only make things harder for ourselves. When you bash the Irish, remember that they learned English without any handouts. Remember that they served on our Police forces. Remember that they served in our wars, and embraced our love of liberty -- precisely because they had lost their freedom in the old world and understood how valuable it was to get it back. They embraced free-enterprise and the rule of law. They truly assimilated, which is better than you can say for many of our Hispanic and Muslim immigrants.

You can keep your multiculturalism. I don't want it. I encourage anyone I can to abandon the blind faith that everyone regardless of cultural background will come here and become "American" just because it's so great. What we have here is a lot more vulnerable to cultural dissipation than the multiculturalists would admit. Just look at the war on Christmas and ask yourself what it's all about!
