You are more than an idiot, you are knowing and willfully causing your child harm by smoking around them.

Actually, according to the World Health Organization, it is good for them.

But I am sure you are smarter than all those scientists I paid for.

Aw, give me a break! Both my parents smoked around me and I just had a check up. At 48 I'm very healthy. Yes, I started smoking when I was 13 but QUIT when I was 17.

If a child has asthma I could see the health problem.

I don't allow smoking in my home and won't date a smoker simply because I don't like the smell.

These anti-smoking nuts have gone way around the bend IMHO.

Do you know what factor is most strongly correlated with childhood asthma?

Being born in hospitol.

You see, your immune system "impresses" on bacteria when you are born - the bacteria in a ditch are actually good for you. The ones in hospitol are not.

According to Oxford University.

Bull. Where's the proof?

My parents smoked around me and I never even noticed it.

Seems like NOBODY noticed it until the nanny-state whiners began pushing their agenda.

Now the REAL idiots are conned into believing "you are knowing and willfully causing your child harm by smoking around them."

That's a crock.  My daughter was born into a smoking home.  My hubby and I both smoked.  I smoked before AND after she was born.  And I even nursed her.  (And NO!  I didn't blow smoke in her face.  I KNOW you are going to ask that NEXT!)

She grew up to be a beautiful young woman and now is married and has a babe of her own.  She never had health problems.  She and her hubby BOTH smoke!  No one is sick.  No one has asthma.

You have been blatantly mislead my friend.

I don't know what the problem is...the lady in the article was NOT smoking around her kids:

"My children know not to come around when I'm on the front porch with my morning coffee, tending to my cows or out in my garden, because I'm having a cigarette," she said.

She is smoking AWAY from her kids and gave the kids forewarning to stay away from her while she did so (10 minutes to smoke a cig at most), I do the same with my grandkids. I tell them when I am going to go out on the porch and smoke, they know that they need to go play in the yard or in the house away from where I am at. That ruling is just wrong.

Prove it. I see these inane statistics about how many kids have died through second hand smoke, and it just proves the maxim that the public is more willing to swallow a big lie than a small one.

There isn't a shred of medical evidence that links anything definitively to second hand smoke other than stinky clothes.

As a marketing person, a conservative, and a non-smoker, this whole 'stop smoking around the kids thing' is the biggest whopper ever sold anyone, anywhere, and the end is simply the use of your own kids to steal more of your liberty.

That's it. If smoking is as evil as everyone says it is, then ban it, and don't even think of banning it unless you plan to ban alcohol too.

We KNOW there is a link between the use of alcohol and the development of the fetus in the womb. We also know there is a correlation between alcohol abuse and child abuse.

So, since nobody has the balls to go after either smoking or drinking as legal activities that should be made illegal, let's just find another hobby beside trying to tell people what they can and cannot do in their own homes.

You are more than an idiot, you are knowing and willfully causing your child harm by smoking around them.

Having the inability to separate fact from opinion, I suspect, will forever limit you to whatever existence you presetly enjoy with such a sterling grasp of the scientific method.

You are aware, I must assume, of what the scientific method is, and that the largest scientific studies made in regards to SHS all conclude that there is no provable harm that can be found?

Ahaaah ! Another one who believes what has been told to him by the antis.

I smoked,my husband smoked, most of our friends and relatives smoked. Five healthy, now middle aged, kids resulted from all that smoking----and none of them smoke.

Tell me this. Why are the baby boomers considered the healthiest generation in history when they were all born and raised when smoking rates were at their highest?

Why are asthma rates in children going up when smoking rates in adults are very low?

I've never recived an answer to these questions----maybe you are the one that will do it for me.

I would never call someone an idiot for smoking in front of a child----I do it in front of my grandchildren and guess what? They think I'm just great.

Looking forward to the answers to my questions.
