An Ill Wind Off Cape Cod (EnviroLeftists don't want windmills where THEY can see them)
New York Times ^ | 12/16/05 | RFK The Lesser

By R.F. Kennedy, Jr.

AS an environmentalist, I support wind power, including wind power on the high seas. I am also involved in siting wind farms in appropriate landscapes, of which there are many. But I do believe that some places should be off limits to any sort of industrial development. I wouldn't build a wind farm in Yosemite National Park. Nor would I build one on Nantucket Sound, which is exactly what the company Energy Management is trying to do with its Cape Wind project.

Environmental groups have been enticed by Cape Wind, but they should be wary of lending support to energy companies that are trying to privatize the commons - in this case 24 square miles of a heavily used waterway. And because offshore wind costs twice as much as gas-fired electricity and significantly more than onshore wind, the project is financially feasible only because the federal and state governments have promised $241 million in subsidies...

I would think you could make the windmills look very "arty." People fly to Holland just to look at tulips and windmills, don't they?

I'm permanently off the caffeine (for now!) so I guess I'm too slow to see what they are squawking about. And, that Kennedy....not the brightest. Maybe he is off his caffeine, too.

might be the dumbest man alive.

Dumbest? Probably not.Filthiest? Well,he *did* testify as a character witness for a guy who murdered a 15 year old girl by thrusting the shaft of a golf club through her neck.

But then, that guy *was* his blood cousin.

When you look at the spawn of Ethel Skakel Kennedy, all you see is filth!

I don't like Eminent Domain used to take peoples property for more tax purposes but a persons view has less use than a person's home taken to build a yacht club.
Eminent domain would be a good use to build a wind farm on
the Kennedy Kompound!

This is the wackjob liberal that Sean Hannity nailed by carefully documenting his energy-hog personal use of private jets, limousines, SUVs, 50 room mansions, etc.

He is an arrogant, totalitarian phony "environmentalist."

I presently live in Florida. Enviros object to the development that is going on, much of which is indeed poorly located and designed for the climate, topography, etc.

Yet with so many people moving here, housing and roads must be built somewhere. If you object to development in locations A, B and C, you need to say where and how development is appropriate. Otherwise, you merely divert development to the locations where there is the least resistance to it, which are often the worst places of all, if looked at objectively.

Was it his brother who had the affair with the 14 year old babysitter and her mother?

It is a key tenet of being a liberal. You are allowed to talk all you want, say whatever you want, be taken seriously and so on.

As soon as action is required, you are allowed to have a million and one reasons why nothing should be done...yet. Need to talk some more, discuss it more, set up more meetings and so on. Everything is so nuanced and complicated.

And we need to be sure nobody is inconvenienced, offended or has their feelings hurt.

Two words....."property values".

Yes! Of course, if it was hip to have your own windmill, guess which crowd would be sucking them all up - the ones with the private jets, the limos, the yachts, the estates, etc.

I'd be a happy little hummingbird if I knew I could "harvest the wind" with a pretty windmill...

I saw that, too! Awesome...Kennedy started stuttering like Arianna Huffington did when Hannity asked her about her SUVs, flying on private jets, heating and cooling her swankiendas, etc. - all the while talking so "green" to the rest of us.

They talk it, but they can't walk it. Sean put both of those "deers" in headlights!

Howie Carr,a local Boston talk show host and long time "fan" of the Kennedys would do much, much better at this, but I'll give it a try. Please keep in mind that I'm working from memory here.

Ethel's kids:

Joseph, driver of a Jeep that overturned, resulting in the permanent complete paralysis of a female passenger

Michael, investigated for having molested a young girl who babysat for his kids.Killed in a skiing accident while the investigation was still in progress.

A daughter (Rory?) married a convicted IRA multiple murderer.

A son (David?),died of a heroin OD

Somehow,I think there's more....but I'd have to research it.

Here in Germany the wind farms are only possible because of the tax breaks, etc. With the new government maybe this waste of time will go away. I have yet to see a singe windmill or field of windmills that improves on the view God provided!!
