Storm surge caused by hurricanes is not "flooding", it is hurricane damage. State Farm should pay up. The weasles.

Storm surge is flooding. It's flooding in the other 48 states and always has been. It was flooding in MS and LA until about six months ago, as well.

Yes it is flooding. All banks don’t require mortgages in hurricane areas to purchase expensive flood insurance because of rainfall. Lott took a risk, and is now reneging. That’s the weasel behavior that I expected of him.

I saw one story where a man had hurricane AND flood insurance coverage. He had some flood damage AND his entire roof was ripped off his home by the wind. THe insurance rep told him they would only pay for the water damage but not both. I forget the ridiculous reason given.

Agreed. Without the hurricane-force winds, there is no storm surge. Storm surge damage is a direct result of hurricane-force winds.

Floods are always caused by something else, like rain, snow, and wind. I never heard of a flood happening for no other reason. A nice sunny day, and suddenly a flood happens?

What I wonder, since the article says there is nothing left but the foundation, did the wind blow it away or did it wash away? Seems to me it would be easy to say the wind blew it away before the water came.

Isn't flooding the result of water? Dunno just asking.
