What I wonder, since the article says there is nothing left but the foundation, did the wind blow it away or did it wash away? Seems to me it would be easy to say the wind blew it away before the water came.

Yes, you always make the argument that the wind blew the house down but would you want to stay around and watch what really happens?

The cement slab is the foundation. Foundations close to the coast are not often dug because the water table is so close to the surface.
