I wouldn't say that Islam itself is a machine of idealogical warfare, rather that warfare is a machine of to carry Islam, and the Koran teaches that war is okay. More than okay, even necessary. Consider the words of the Koran, verse nine, chapter five. "[9.5] So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush..."
This is the religion that approximately 1.9 billion people across the globe practice. Osama Bin Laden, Al-Zarqaiwi, these names are products of the Koran, and this is what the Koran preaches. If a child was raised since a young age to fight, and kill, and murder those who opposed him, what kind of person would that child grow up to be? He would grow up to be just like Sadam Hussein, who was responsible for the Kurdish mass genocide. Consider this, if a mere 25% of Muslims took up arms, that would give a force of 400 million soldiers armed with suicide bombers and AK-47's. Those Muslims who practice "fundamentalist" Islam, are a very real threat; to America and to the free countries of the world.

>>Well, Mormons and JWs are cultists, kindly, productive, and wholesome, but still cultists.

Go wash your mouth out with soap!

Seriously, ANY organized religion is a "cult". the problem is most people think"occult" when you say that.

Occult they are not.

Military brass want a better understanding of what's motivating the insurgents in Iraq and the terrorists around the globe

I would have hoped that we had already gone through this exercise. It appears to me that we're looking for reasons to deny that Islam is a Fascist ideology as well as a religion. It's both and until we recognize that fact we ain't gonna make any headway.

There may be Muslims who are peaceful just as there are Catholics who approve of abortion or birth control but the Muslim religion itself is anything but peaceful.

Let's stop saying this "Islam is a relgion of peace" and start challenging it's teachings and start putting so called Islamic leaders on the spot publicly and officially.

People try to point to Turkey as an example of a muslim democracy

Fragile is the word that comes to mind. Turkey's admittance into the EU is Europe playing with fire. Radical Islam will win out in Turkey just as it will throughout the world as long as we keep insisting that Islam is a religion of peace and not a radical ideology. We're killing ourselves with this PC crap.

Radical Islam is not an aberraton. It is really the norm while moderate Islam has been the aberration that departed from the faith.
