The January 2006 issue of Vanity Fair includes the magazine's 2005 Best of the Best -- "Heroes! Winners! Guilty Pleasures!" -- feature. Among those honored are the cast of ABC's "Lost," chosen as "Best Find"; the cast of FX's "Nip/Tuck," chosen as "Best Lift"; and aging rockers Sir Bob Geldof and Bono, chosen as "Best Ambassadors." But the choice that catches the eye -- and the breath -- is in the "Best Stand" category. In a two-page spread, winner Cindy Sheehan is photographed lying full length in the grass at her son Casey's grave at the Vacaville-Elimira Cemetery in Vacaville, California:
Go ahead libs. Tell me she isn't using her son's coffin as a soap box... I dare you.
Fashion ads would even be better than mostly nude people ...hawking whatever... And mostly men...given Graydon Carter's personal taste.
Hmm. My bad.
Words don't fail me. She's a low life, slack-jawed, anti-war liberal using her dead son as a prop for her desperate attempts to stay in the lime light.
Yup, you are absolutely right! I would even go so far as to say she wasn't even there but that the photo was a phony......
I'm happy to say, after years and years, I didn't renew my subscription to Vanity Fair.
At first glance, I notice the picture is about as phony as she is. Pretty unimpressive photoshop job if I might say so.
"No time . . .gotta run off to Scotland tomorrow and England on Saturday, Netherlands next week. Oh how am I going to find the time to tell the world my burdens. That damn Bush has made my life almost unlivable".
MY
GOD
No question about it. She's lost it.
You are quite right. Being a vet myself, I thought that too but neglected to mention it. Glad you did.
In Ms. Sheehan's defense though, perhaps there was a stone there and her head covered it up. Still, this is all about her, not her son. She is a user.
You could well be correct. As I neglected to mention and another poster suggested to me, the military would purchase a stone for her son. Perhaps she was laying on it and it was not visible. But, all these shenannigans are for her self aggrandizement, not her son.
it looks to me like some of the shadows from the gravestones are at different angles. and, if her feet throw a shadow, how come her bottom, which is sticking up higher, doesn't throw a shadow?
(Apologies to the late Frane Zappa.)
A hearty LOL on that one!
When my brother died (a veteran) his grave was adorned by a simple headstone that was level with the ground. No standing memorial was provided.
A common problem among liberals:
'Narnia represents everything that is most hateful about religion' (The Guardian, UK)
"Of all the elements of Christianity, the most repugnant is the notion of the Christ who took our sins upon himself and sacrificed his body in agony to save our souls. Did we ask him to?"
It's Elmira not Elimira. In the late 70's early 80's I lived on the outskirts of Vacaville not far from Elmira.
Why doesn't this woman do something to honor her son instead of herself??? She was a birth mother to him, but in my opinion, not a "Mom".
Bless Casey's heart. He gave his life for what he believed and she is defaming everything he stood for and died for.
Nana
penalty box for you
