It isn't until you get to the interior coverage of this front page article, and the second column of the second page that you will find:

Authorities did not say whether any Americans were involved in the inquiry.

Media Schadenfreude and Media Shenanigans

The bastards at CNN KNEW of torture and abuse under Saddam Hussein but kept quiet so as to keep their Baghdad bureau open.

The media is partnered with evil in this war. Remember that.

Oh I haven't forgotten, in fact I remember an admission that people had died because of their silence and lust to have access to Iraq.

MSM look around for some way to get those Bush numbers back on the descent. New Orleans? Nope, tried resurrecting that already. Get out of Iraq dems? Not working. Hmm, Abu Grahib, let's dust that one off...

Exactly how many heads have we cut off? Exactly how many 'hostages' have we executed on the internet? Exactly how many people have we stopped in traffic, cut to pieces, hung those bloody pieces off of a bridge, then set fire to these pieces, while chanting 'Allah ackbar'?

I can answer that .... EXACTLY ZERO.

Apparently you have to be willing to throw reporters into industrial shredders to get a favorable report out of them.

Worth a try, I guess.

In 1962, J. Edgar Hoover's FBI recruited a mafia hitmen to torture information out of captured Klansmen. They would stick guns in their mouth and tell them they were going to blow their heads off. All in the service of the of the civil rights movement.

Reality happens libs.

To be specific, is that a place under Iraqi control or under American coalition control?

Note how little coverage THIS article got:

Poll: Broad Optimism in Iraq, But Also Deep Divisions Among Groups.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1538939/posts

"seven in 10 Iraqis say their own lives are going well, and nearly two-thirds expect things to improve in the year ahead.

Surprisingly, given the insurgents' attacks on Iraqi civilians, more than six in 10 Iraqis feel very safe in their own neighborhoods, up sharply from just 40 percent in a poll in June 2004. And 61 percent say local security is good — up from 49 percent in the first ABC News poll in Iraq in February 2004.

Average household incomes have soared by 60 percent in the last 20 months (to $263 a month), 70 percent of Iraqis rate their own economic situation positively, and consumer goods are sweeping the country. In early 2004, 6 percent of Iraqi households had cell phones; now it's 62 percent. Ownership of satellite dishes has nearly tripled, and many more families now own air conditioners (58 percent, up from 44 percent), cars, washing machines and kitchen appliances.

There are positive political signs as well. Three-quarters of Iraqis express confidence in the national elections being held this week, 70 percent approve of the new constitution, and 70 percent — including most people in Sunni and Shiite areas alike — want Iraq to remain a unified country.

Preference for a democratic political structure has advanced, to 57 percent of Iraqis, while support for an Islamic state has lost ground, to 14 percent (the rest, 26 percent, chiefly in Sunni Arab areas, favor a "single strong leader.")

So do you think that might be reported if we threw, say... Helen Thomas, maybe... into a wood chipper?

I'd be happy to send her to IRAN and make her live there under the ruling of the Mullahs.

Just think of the benefits -- they wouldn't let her show her face, make her wear a black vail.

Yes, indeedy. They not only knew of Saddam's crimes, but they paid him cash money to stay on as the only Western news outlet. On top of that slime sucking deal, they allowed the Iraqi censors to review their stories. Absolute hypocrisy right the core of their worthless whoring hearts.
