Mass. senators calling for Sec. Rumsfeld's resignation

-- If the Bay State senators could hang an ornament on the Pentagon Christmas tree, it would be pink.

A pink slip, that is, for Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

Democratic Senators Edward Kennedy and John Kerry called for Rumsfeld's resignation last week, following a speech at John Hopkins University in which Rumsfeld defended the war in Iraq and critiqued the mainstream media's war coverage.

"We've arrived at a strange time in this country where the worst about America and our military seems to so quickly be taken as truth by the press," Rumsfeld said.

As an example, Rumsfeld later pointed to stories revealing a Pentagon program that reportedly paid a contractor to pay Iraqi newspapers to print positive stories about the U.S. effort in Iraq. The stories apparently were written by the contractors and published as news.

"That story has been pounded in the media," Rumsfeld said. "And the problem is the story goes out all over the world, over and over and over again. And we're still trying to find out what the facts are."

The senators, though, seemed more apt to believe the press than Rumsfeld.

"We need a fresh start at the Pentagon for the good of American troops, so brave Americans stop paying the terrible price of this defense secretary's mistakes," Kerry said.

Teddy Kennedy and John Kerry want to see Rumsfeld out? Why is this news? They ALWAYS both wanted to see Rumsfeld removed from his post. Without Rumsfeld, George W. Bush would lose a certain degree of credibility, which is the objective these Dem'crats have in mind. And if Rumsfeld could be removed on their demand alone, how much would that further erode the position of the Bush Administration?

"Democratic Senators Edward Kennedy and John Kerry called for Rumsfeld's resignation last week"

And a fat, drunk woman killer and a known TRAITOR call for the Secretary of Defense to resign. These anti-American left-wing idiots should resign as they are giving aid and comfort to the enemies of the American people.

One wonders how long she survived in that air bubble... as Teddy consulted with his family on what to do.

Better idea: Massachusetts resigns from the Union.

I'd sure like to know when the voters in Mass are actually going to releave these two idiots from their positions. And, furthermore, why haven't the Republicans put someone up against them? I wouldn't care if it were Barney, the purple dinosaur, at this point.
