A man tries to hit police with a beer bottle at Cronulla Beach in Sydney, Australia, Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005, after ethnic tensions erupted into running battles between police and a mob of thousands of youths, many chanting racial slurs. At least six people were arrested and several injured in alcohol-fueled fights at the beach. (AP Photo/Rob Griffith)
I go for the former, it's more of a "I-can't-wait-to remind-you-of-how-drunk-and-stupid-you-were-when-I-come-get-you-out-of-jail" look.
Nah - I know the look - it's the look that you put on when you're bigger than the person you're trying to control, and you know you could throw them down and stomp on them - but they're your friend, so rather than do that, and incite something bigger, or say something and incite the same thing - you get this kind of thousand yard stare that says "yes, yes, let's just move along and get out of here before the nice policeman decides to stomp your silly little a$$ and I have to explain to your mom (or in my case, the First Sergeant) exactly how stupid you got.
Not that I've ever gotten that look before, mind you.
"It's time for a f****** war, so join the army of hardcore"
"Not that I've ever gotten that look before, mind you."
LOL, and the look on the smaller guy's face is familiar, too. "I'm a little banty rooster, but if I look berserk enough, I just might scare you." Trouble is, once this front gets put up, they feel obligated to follow through, if the object of the display doesn't back off.
Most Lebanese Christians I know (and I know quite a few Maronites) would gladly take part in any gathering that teaches Koranimals some manners.
LOL!
My experience has always been to watch out for the scrawny guys. They can make a lot of trouble.
LMAO!
Winnah!
Is that a Sam Adams bottle?
"My experience has always been to watch out for the scrawny guys."
I've seen the look and know the type well; being a native southerner, we've got our share. The only good approach is to do exactly what the guy beside him is trying to do ... calm him down. You can be pretty well certain that the little guy spoiling for a fight will be able to fight, and dirty. But, what's going on in the photo is a "back off" display of bravado.

I'm sick and tired of being the 40-year old virgin!!!!
I've always wondered about that . . . one can walk into a biker-bar full of mountainous guys, and it's the beansprout causing all the trouble. I think it's because they know their buddies will back them up.
"I think it's because they know their buddies will back them up."
That, and overcompensating. We call it a "banty rooster complex." Napoleonic complex, to people outside the south, lol.
Sad Max.
>>>By the way, where's the Heini guy?
