Murtha came awfully close to calling for a draft, didn't he? Said that in every other war we "ramped up" the army with a draft, and in this one we didn't. Complaining that the army is as small as it was in 1940. Again with the talk about the army being broken.
What a piece of work this guy is!

"They already did that before the '04 election. They did not even vote for it. Idiots...."
I remember.....that was charlie Rangel.....but I keep thinking that they may get so fed up with not having a timetable that they will use Murtha's 'expertise' about the military, to call for a draft.

You are assuming the WMD was his only argument. It was not. He is simply stating that there were ample reasons to depose the "Baghdad Butcher" and WMD was but one of them.

BBC poll is optimistic:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1538613/posts
"The BBC News website's World Affairs correspondent, Paul Reynolds, says the survey shows a degree of optimism at variance with the usual depiction of the country as one in total chaos.
The findings are more in line with the kind of arguments currently being deployed by US President George W Bush, he says."
