"Why then has the Bush administration gone to such lengths to tie al-Qaida to the Iraq war in the popular American mind?
Simply put, 9/11 left an indelible neuronal impression in our brains that predispose us to react with anxiety and anger whenever the events of that day, or anything associated with them, are brought to our attention. Haunted by the memory of 9/11, and dangerously unaware of our emotional states, our glorious leaders have manipulated strong cultural undercurrents of fear and revenge to sever the natural empathic bonds that we might otherwise feel for an oppressed and suffering people. By branding the Iraqi resistance with al-Qaida, Washingtons public relations experts have justified the cold-blooded murder of 100,000 Iraqis and the daily humiliation of an entire nation."

The desperate attempt of government officials to brand the Iraqi insurgency with al-Qaida is part of a deliberate misinformation campaign aimed at dissuading the American public from demanding an end to the Iraq war. Stop it! Yunz'all are killing me!
This is the funniest post I've read today....sadly!
Dang the MSM to hades!

"The desperate attempt of government officials to brand the Iraqi insurgency with al-Qaida is part of a deliberate misinformation campaign aimed at dissuading the American public from demanding an end to the Iraq war." Mr. Paulson sure has a clear view of things from his armchair up there in Minnesota, doesn't he? Wow! Partisan hacks have no limit or sense of decency. Nevermind that the Iraqis are now turning in al-Qada members to the US forces in record numbers.

The Minnesota Daily, proudly serving up treason in every issue for 40 years. These are your future "journalists" at work people. Just another reason the Right needs to go full bore in developing the alternative media so the angry, self important, hysteric Leftists like Nathan Paulsen can wallow in their own irrelevance gnawing on their own bile.

Uh...Nathan, you really don't seem to have your facts quite right there sir. And calling us Mass Murderers and basically calling the American public 'crazy' after 9/11 doesn't help your cause. As you so eloquently describe,
left an indelible neuronal impression in our brains that predispose us to react with anxiety and anger...and dangerously unaware of our emotional states, perhaps you'd like to more clearly state that the American people have PTSD. The Bush administration didn't have to go to great lengths to tiel al-Qaida to Iraq, the links were already there prior to the war, remember Saddam has links to the PA too. He was paying suicide bomber's families $25,000 for each act committed against Israel!
Al-Qaida and the insurgency are linked together, along with Iran and Syria. Nathan, don't you see that Al-Qaida is the secreted army of radical Islam? You did indeed start with the right question, With every passing Iraqi death we lose another piece of our humanity. How can we or Washington justify the mass murder of thousands? , but as the atrocities of despot regimes like Saddams don't even register with you..you are complicite with the murder of thousands. The Iraqi people will remember all those innocent who died as heroes on the road to Freedom. Many of those people died not from Coalition forces, but were murdered by the insurgency, al-Qaida, or Saddam loyalists. This time last year we were in a battle for Fallujah and while the media focused on the Marine who shot the wounded insurgent they missed the FACT that as our Marines conducted house to house searches they found holding areas, torture chambers, and whole families killed/beheaded. This was not our troops doing this...this was the al-Qaida insurgency.
How many schools has the insurgency built in Iraq?
How many waterlines installed or repaired?
How much infrastructure repaired?
Who is allowing them to vote for freedom?
Oh, that's right it is al-Qaida and the insurgency doing all these wonderful things...

With every passing Iraqi death we lose another piece of our humanity...Actually, we would have lost our humanity had we REFUSED to demonstrate our willingness to shed blood to defend ourselves. The "Mogadishu Model" was used by our enemies to deem us "inhuman"; weak, and void of a natural defense mechanism.
Our dead in Iraq have restored the natural respect human beings must have for each other. We have not been attacked on our soil again, and the death of these soldiers is the reason why.

Decades of U.S. foreign policy aimed at pillaging other countries resources had sparked an abiding sense of resentment and anger among the worlds masses.
Such as the decade before Bush2?

I wrote Mr. Paulsen, and let him know he doesn't have a clue as to what is transpiring in Iraq.

Last week, Chris Mathews tried to get away with saying that Bush/Cheney had always stated that Iraq was responsible for 9/11. He went on further to say that Iraq never had anything to do with terrorism.
Fortunately, he floated these lies to Stephen Hayes of the Weekley Standard... who corrected him in no uncertain terms. After getting the truth from Hayes... Mathews mumbled... Well... they certainly gave that impression... and the American people believed it.

Well... they certainly gave that impression... and the American people believed it. So it's up to the administration to prove a negative, right or wrong?
Wasn't Zarkowi in Iraq a year before we invaded? Didn't Dean just say he came after we invaded? Where's the left's denial of that lie?
