Justices decline to block Williams execution

San Francisco -- Crips co-founder Stanley Tookie Williams lost another bid before the California Supreme Court when the justices unanimously ruled late Sunday not to reopen his case and block his Tuesday execution by lethal injection.
The high court ruled 6-0, and said the last-minute appeal lacked merit and was untimely as well, meaning Williams will be executed unless Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger grants clemency or an anticipated last-ditch federal appeal is successful. California's justice days ago also turned down a similar appeal from Williams, who is scheduled to be the 12th condemned inmate executed since state lawmakers reinstated the death penalty in 1977 after a brief hiatus.
State prosecutors implored the justices early Sunday to dismiss Williams' latest petition to block his Tuesday execution for murdering four people in 1979.
The stay request filed on Williams' behalf "is without merit and is manifestly designed for delay," Deputy Attorney General Lisa Brault wrote the justices.
Brault's brief came hours after a lawyer for Williams, 51, urged the state Supreme Court to call off the Crips co-founder's upcoming death contending Williams should have been allowed to argue at his 1981 Los Angeles County trial that someone else killed one of his four alleged victims.

Too bad they can't shoot him in the back like he did to his first victim, then laugh at the sounds he makes as his life gurgles away. Better yet, video it and send ccs off to these bleeding hearts so they can also enjoy it!

This is not a hard decision for the courts or the governor. Tookie has been tried and convicted of his crimes. He threatened to kill the jurors, planned an escape from prison that involved killing guards and one of his "friends" who testified against him. He shows no remorse and accepts no responsibility for his actions.
There is nothing that happened in the commission of the crimes or since that time to show Tookie is worthy of clemency.

Sung to the tune of Toot, Toot, Tootsie Goodbye:
Took, Took, Tookie goodbye,
Took, Took, Tookie don't cry.
The lethal shot that takes you away from here,
No words can tell how loud we'll cheer.
Miss us, Tookie, and then
Miss us over again.
Fat chance of bail,
The injection we'll hail,
if we don't get a letter
Then we know you're dead in jail.
Took, Took, Tookie don't cry,
Took, Took, Tookie goodbye!

I think the governor is letting it go to the last minute based on tradition, and it gives less time for Los Angeles to burn.

The Court should have sanctioned his attorneys costs for filing a frivolous motion. Take note that it was unanimous. Stanley Williams apparently didn't grow up all these years in prison. He's still not ready to die like a man. We'll see just how he looks upon death once its his turn. One day to go to the Blessed Event!

I thought he was innocent? Gee after all these years he finally admits to committing at least three murders! Not that its much of a concession but it shows how his Fan Club has been played for fools. I just love how that sociopath suckered them with his jive about having changed. I didn't believe it for a minute.

They'll forget he ever existed once he's executed. And they'll find another murderer to moon over.
