Each year it gets harder and harder to locate Christmas wrapping paper with a Christian theme. You know, the designs we used to take for granted: Babe in a Manger, the Three Wise Men, Peace on Earth, etc.
I thought it would be useful to pool our resources as to what is available out there in stores and on the Web.
After a few hours on Google, I've found two designs that fit the bill:
Clearly my Google-foo skills are deficient. Anyone else have some good sources?
I would think if you go to any Bible Bookstore, they would have what you are looking for.
I find the idea of eating the baby Jesus Mary and/or Joseph rather repulsive.
Say what you want, I just luv Christmas. I can never get enough of the interdenominational squabbles. Jewish Christians complain about this, Polish Lithuanian Christians bitching about that, it's one big Christian family gathered around a Kwanzaa tree, singing along with Brenda Lee about the joyful shopping season!
What does a white supremacist rally down the street from your house have to do with FR?
Perhaps if chalkfarmer who made the reference to 'Petco having a few hannukah items' in post #73, would explain exactly what he/she meant, that might clarify things here....
As do I. I posted it as an example of how absurd this argument is becoming.
Somehow folks, I think its us Christians who have forgotten what Christmas is all about.
That, my dear FRiend, is a major problem.
My daughter came home From Sunday school this afternoon with a picture she had made and "framed." It has an angel, a tree, a person with a gift and a large star over a baby in a carriage. In the star are the words "Respect Baby Jesus."
My daughter is 7.
Maybe if you could get Hildy to pinpoint the white supremacist rally (time, date, place) and what it has to do with Free Republic, THAT might clarify things here....
I'm saving up my list of grievances for the 23rd :~D
I can see how someone could interpret this as an insult. Sorry, Paulat, Hildy has a point. Especially since HER initial post was about how hard it was to find a decent manorah with which to celebrate the season. She DID NOT mention a pet anywhere.
When I read it, I didn't give it the connotation you obviously have. While I'll give you the offense you took, I'd say you're too sensitive.
......... And if we're going tit for tat...how about the Jewish Doctors who came up with the vaccines that saved a SH**TLOAD of people of every persuasion from deadly diseases.
The world owes the Jews for a lot more than just the vaccines you mentioned.
You are SOOO right!!
Okay...explain the white supremacist rally and its relation to Free Republic.
Just to lighten things a bit...I did buy my doggie a hannukah bandana from Petco last year!
Bless you. It didn't start out as an argument, just a request for information. Then some of the regulars hit it and...well...grotesque would be a better adjective.
I figured someone would come up with that obvious answer.....I donated 4 rolls of wrapping paper to the brownie troop for their table yesterday where they were doing christmas wrapping for the Church Christmas bazaar, and the Church where the troop meets.........I bought it at Dollar General.
It is fascinating how a thread about finding Christian Christmas-themed wrapping paper could bring out such hateful psychoses in the unstable and paranoid.
My point is, it seems to be post #73 that started this fracas, and frankly, I am not sure what chalkfarmer was saying...some say that chalkfarmer was merely saying that Petco had a few cute Hannuka items for pet...Hildy did take offense at the remark...and myself, I am not sure what chalkfarmer meant, so if he/she came forward, ,and explained exactly what he/she meant, we would at least know that much...
Hildy, I am quite sure, can answer for herself...I have a notion of where she is going with her line of thought, but I cannot speak for her...
Got your festivus pole up yet?
