(CBS) CHICAGO Some racy books about teen sex parties are raising eyebrows. The books are so explicit, they could make some adults blush.
But as CBS 2's Sylvia Gomez reports, books like "Rainbow Party" are only telling us what the kids already know.
"Each girl put on a different color lipstick ? and the guys all drop their pants" is an excerpt from the novel, "Rainbow Party."
They're called lipstick parties and the concept, real or myth, is about teenagers and oral sex. ?Rainbow Party? glorifies it. "Doing It" celebrates it. And there are other books as easy to get as going to Borders or calling up Amazon.com.
They are racy, salacious, X-rated pages bound neatly between designer covers.
"Girls and boys think that oral sex doesn?t really count as sex. And it's way more casual than ever before," said Dr. Susan Mackey, a Lincolnwood psychologist who specializes in adolescents and families.
"A girl once told me in therapy that it goes like this: we meet, we kiss, we have oral sex, then we go out," Mackey said.
What the book jacket is selling and whether it's packed in a book bag isn't the issue. What is, is what the kids are really buying.
"Girls get hooked into this because they don't think they're the cute ones or the popular ones, so they have to do this in order to be popular," Mackey said.
For the record, the kids we spoke to Wednesday told us they had heard of these types of parties, but they all say they abstain.
Dr. Mackey warns all parents to know what they're kids are watching and what they're reading. Talk, don't lecture, to them about sex. And do it soon. Self-esteem is what it is all about.
So once they kiss and she [Lewinskys] him, what exactly do they talk about on the date?
Well, at least it's a boy-girl interaction...
No, Self-Esteem is a meaningless PC concept dreamed up by aging adolescents like you who have long forgotten the notion of Character.
Alarmist malarkey.
What is the difference between 'lecturing' and 'talking'? I 'lecture' my kids all the time when I am speaking with authority. Am I supposed to pretend I don't believe in what I am telling them?
Self-esteem? Bull shiite! Self-respect, dignity, and morality are what it's all about.
The Clinton legacy keeps on giving.
Thanks Bill, America salutes your legacy.
I'm not in the industry. But, I'm guessing it's "Sweeps Week" in Chicago.
Hillary?
Bunch of kids are going to grow up one day, and realize that they have been damned fools! I was never a teenage saint, but there was still a level of respect and decency involved.
We should have had another revolution about 30 years ago, and nipped this crap in the bud!
Hillary?
""Girls and boys think that oral sex doesn't really count as sex""
If a boy has received oral sex , is he still a virgin? Of course. I think on some level we recognize it's two different things.
Thank you BJ...Clinton.
Good question!
He can't just roll over and go to sleep..... can he?

"...and BINGO was his name-oh!"
The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy!
What? Nothing about heaving bosoms, husky voices and milky white thighs?
Dear Forum, this doesn't normally happen to me but....
